What my kids are like, and how to raise your child/children in this day and age.

PPP (Proud Parent Syndrome)

Last October, I indulge on Sati’s clothes (spend more than I should). I bought cute clothes for her on the net, have it delivered to a relative in US and have it shipped here. For some reason, it was delayed and it took more than a month before it reached my hands. Last Thursday, we got a notice from the post office saying that a package or a parcel for us is waiting to be claimed int heir office. Knowing how corrupt our postal system is, I started to feel bad about my parcel. I was imagining things, like paying more than I should or even discovering that there are some pieces that are lost (or STOLEN). My hubby who knew I was about to throw some fit went to the Pasig Central Office (in Ortigas) but it was in post office in Pasig City Hall. Friday and I was worried (reading to much can lead to insanity on my case) and was on the verge of going gaga over it.. hubby on the other hand has things to do so he said he’ll just get it on Monday. Now, that made me super sad.. oh no, I mean mad. Good thing (bago maghalo ang balat sa tinalupan) before I turn into a green mean monster, I got another package (this time delivered right into our doorstep). It’s form my Mareng Seiko.. oh darn, I was ecstatic and thankful. Seiko saved me from going crazy and the items she gave for Sati are soooo ADORABLE and USEFUL. I did not took some photos of it because I am shy.. I am not used to receiving gifts (I feel I am not worthy of anything).. but really I am so THANKFUL to my Mareng Seiko.. muah muah to you marce!

OK, back to the package from the post office.. as promised he got the package last Monday and we have a feast.. (next time you will Sati on Ninang Seiko’s gift)

She looks like a boy, I know, but she is the prettiest to Mommy (and Daddy and her older brothers)..

Mommy Moments- Yummy YumYum!

mommy moments

Another Mommy Moments day.. and we are talking about FOODS!!! My kids are not picky eaters. Look at the photo below, yup, they’re eating taro leaves in coconut milk or LAING for us. The say it looks like poopoo but they like it. They eat veggies, they eat meat, they eat anything. They never liked dry foods though. Let them choose between sauted vegetable and hotdog and they would gladly choose veggies. Their favorite dish is anything that Mommy prepared.. LOL.. seriously, they like sinigangs, kare kare and the likes, tinola, which basically the foods I prepared.. LOL

One may ask why the kids are not picky eaters? One of the reason I guess is the fact that I am not a picky eater too and their dad is not one too. We love to indulge on home based food, we would rather cook a sumptuous kare kare or pochero than dine somewhere else. The kids are exposed to that kind of food. I guess that it really is important that a mom knows how to cook real food.

Another reason is that I did not exposed them to junk foods (that’s what I call frozen goods and instant foods) at an early stage. My kids only learned to eat those when they were more than a year old and two for my first born. I also never allowed them to dink soft drinks and limits their flavored drinks intake (like iced tea or juices). But kids are kids, and they can’t say NO to ice cream or donuts.. hihi

if you wanna know how to prepare those dishes, watch out for my recipe blog soon.. hihi

I Can’t Wait For My Birthday

I really can’t wait for my birthday. My dslr will be one year then. Remember it was his gift to me last February. Aside from my dslr turning a year old (but my photography skill is still amateur), I ma excited for my birthday because I promised myself, we will take a break. I am very hopeful that by next year, we already had a bigger car. I am praying that we can dispatch our flood infested car and make it possible to have a bigger one. Our car is not suitable to us anymore. The fact that it was immersed in flood for days and still in muddy condition until now, made is risky for long travel, specially with kids. Another thing is, we are bigger now! Imagine 4 kids plus two helpers in a car. Is that possible? Maybe but with lots of discomfort.

If by February, I am able to earn enough (and with the condition that already got a bigger car), I will buy baby banz for Sati. Traveling with an infant can be tiring, for me and for her too. The most I can do is make Sati more comfortable through her travel accessories. She can wear a hat and sunglasses as we stroll down the beach or breathe fresh air in a park. Oh no, I ma getting dreamy again. All that happened to us in the past few weeks makes me want to escape. I so long for a nice vacation.

The kids need one too, I know, they need to take their minds of the storm and any flood related incident. Until now, they are traumatized by the flood. I really wish we can have a getaway soon.
