My thoughts on parenthood, and what it's like to be a mom in the Philippines.

Some Of My Parenting Mistakes & ‪#CalpolMakeNoMistake‬ Campaign

Bibili ako ng kotse, mga lima.. para araw araw iba iba ang coding!

Those were my crazy thoughts during one of my most stressful parenting mistakes. Nakalimutan ko na coding ang van, nasa hiraman ang kotse at na late ako ng gising!! Ang ending, nag tricycle ang mga bagets papunta sa school.. eh ay highway na dadaanan.. hahays!! I was worried then.

Parenting Mistakes

Even with more than 10 years of parenting experience.. marami pa din talaga akong parenting mistakes. There was a time when I forgot to put on sunscreen on my kids before allowing them to swim. Mabuti na lang hapon na nun kaya (hopefully haha) hindi na ganun ka damaging ang sun.

Parenting Mistakes

One time naman, Sati almost attended school wearing different socks! When I arranged her socks for school, hindi ko napansin na magkaiba pala ang napagsama ko.

Obviously, I am not a perfect mom and makes a lot of parenting mistakes. Pero when any of my kids is sick, I make sure that I make no mistake in treating them. When it comes to caring for kids, specially in terms of health, dapat laging well informed ang mga mommies. Since I started this blog, it has been my goal to educate other mommies about health and proper child care.

In a recent survey commissioned by GSK, Be Sure: The Challenges of Parenting Survey, it was revealed that 1 in 2 parents don’t understand the differences in children’s pain and fever medicines, and maybe unintentionally putting their child at risk.

It’s not surprising that 72% of parents think Ibufropen and Paracetamol are equally safe for children.. which is in fact not. I mentioned here on my blog not just once that these two are different. And when it comes to fever, it is better to give Paracetamol first as Ibufropen has more potential side effects.

Kaya nga when caring for a sick child, make no mistake and choose Paracetamol Calpol®, a suitable and effective choice for pain and fever relief:

  • 96% of healthcare experts recommend Paracetamol (the active ingredient in Calpol®) for children with pain and fever.
  • When used as directed, Paracetamol has the lowest rate of side effects among children’s over-the-counter pain and fever medicines.
  • No other over-the-counter medicine has been trusted longer or proven more effective than Paracetamol for children’s pain and fever.

Aside from giving the right medicine when your child has fever or in pain, dapat make no mistake din when it comes to the dosage. This wheel from Paracetamol Calpol® is what all moms should have in their medicine cabinet:

It can really help parents to be sure about giving the most accurate dose of Paracetamol Calpol®.

This is the best gift if your mom lives far away from you. Decorate a jar with hearts and butterfly. Leave some love notes for your mom. The wait may take some time.. specially if you went there late. We arrived around 8:30 and got our table by 10:30 (or close to that). We waited for 2 hours! But the food is worth the wait (but for a pregnant woman, it’s not! My sugar went sooo low and then went up as soon as I started eating.. hilong hilo ako after eating)

Balay Dako Tagaytay Breakfast Buffet Review

Basic Pinoy breakfast: Dried fish, daing na bangus, tocino, longanisa, bacon and corned beef. Skip the dried fish and daing na bangus and go straight to tocino and corned beef. Longanisa is on the sweet side, bacon is a bit salty. Indulge on the atsara… sobrang saraaap!
