Medicard Philippines, one of the leading health maintenance organizations, joined hands with MetaFit and created the Medicard-Metafit Fitness Boot Camp. Dr. Nicky Montoya(for Medicard) and Coach Jim Saret (METAfit founder and famous Sports and Fitness Science Specialist) signed the contract last February 7, 2013. Present in the contract signing were Ms. Kate Cruz-Joaquin, Medicard Philippines Marketing Manager; and Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition finalists and METAfit coaches, Raffy Tan and Hazel Chua.

The Medicard-Metafit Fitness Boot Camp started last February 25, 2013 (sold out agad!) at the Medicard Lifestyle Center in Paseo De Roxas corner Buendia, Makati City. Hopefull this is not the first boot camp from them (let’s keep pur fingers crossed!)

Before the boot camp started, there was a trial session also held at Medicard Lifestyle Center last February 16, 2013. Bloggers and some participants got to experience Metafit and what can be expected at the bootcamp.

The training started with a warmp up-  10 jumping jacks, 10 squats, 10 pushups, 10 lounges per leg- AMRAP (as manu rounds as possible) for 4 minutes (nyak warm up pa lang un?!?) After that comes the Enter the 50/10- participants were made to do as many repetitions as they can of a specific exercise within 50 seconds with a 10 seconds rest in between.

I can’t imagine what the bloggers and participants went through during the try out.. doon nga lang sa 4 minute eh hinihingal na ako, paano pa kaya if it includes the second set? ayayay! Pero sana din nakasama ako during the trial.. that would be another experience to blog about 🙂

My Secret Weapon

secret talaga na? tapos i ba blog?!? hehehe

It’s not a weapon of mass destruction, more like a weapon for mass eating LOL

Having four kids and one demanding (VERY!) work online (akala nyo husband no hehe) left me with little time to do household chores and cook.. good thing I have a part time helper who comes here every afternoon..but still I have breakfast and lunch to prepare to.. For me, that’s the most tedious part of cooking.. the preparations.. peel here, peel there, cut here, mince there..ayayay! ang hectic! for dinner, my helper does all the preparations, ang peg ko nyan chef lang… gisa-gisa lang, talbog talbog lang.. walang hiwa hiwa.. but breakfast and lunch?!?

Then I discovered a weapon! Keri na magluto kahit tatlong menu!

McCormich Minced Garlic.. the only reason I bought this is for fried rice.. always wondered why fastfood’s garlic rice are so perfect.. tiny buds of garlic, well roasted! ayayay! and so this is the secret! And it cooks very fast… as in in seconds! Since I bought this, cooking fried rice is a breeze! No need to peel and mince garlic and the taste is equally good..

Then I learned, I can also use it on my dishes.. pag tamad ang peg, wala ng onion, garlic lang solve na! It actually lessens my time in the kitchen to almost half.. and that means more time for my kids and my blogs 🙂

I bought this big jar at SM Hypermarket for around 600 PhP.. been using this for more than 3 months already, sulit talaga!

Nescafe Classic Kada Umaga Habit

Bakit ka ba nagkakape?

I asked my husband as we sip our Nescafe Classic coffee (mine is creamy while his is black) in our porch (naks porch daw oh!)..he answered: habit. As expected.. that’s the kind of answer you’ll get for someone who is not romantic, who in 13 years of being together never even bothered giving me flowers. Then I went on asking him about flowers and why, even though we were in flower capital of the Philippines he never even bought me single petal for me. Of course I know the answer to that..asking him err more like teasing him is like drinking coffee, it’s a habit.

We start our morning like that.. wait, let me rephrase that, he starts his morning like that, while for me, that would be my second cup. My first cup of coffee was earlier. That cup I called, my moment of peace. Taken during dawn.. alam mo iyong oras na nag aagaw ang dilim ta liwanag? That’s my favorite time of the day, the best time to enjoy my first cup of coffee 🙂

and this is how the first cup is done:

smell the coffee.. blow a little.. sip a little.. enjoy the taste and look around..
haaaaaayssss..  peaceful, quiet morning… this is how drinking coffee should be..
smell the coffee.. blow a little.. sip a little.. enjoy the taste and look around..
haaaaayysss.. thankful for moments like this..and thankful for the day that’s about to come..

I’d do that until I had the last drop of my coffee..

sarap talaga mag kape kada umaga no?

pero mas sasarap pa ang umaga mo with Nescafe Classic Kada Umaga:

nescafe_kadaumaga_newspage

With Nescafe Classic Kada Umaga, ako at ang friends ko ang headline! ang bongga lang di ba?

You can personalize your Kada Umaga content by picking the news you want to wake up every morning.. think of it as your very own newspaper.. hindi pa ba sasarap ang umaga while sipping your Nescafe Classic and reading news that you only want to read?

You can also share the news to your friends through Facebook and Twitter and make their mornings as good as yours.. and not only that, you will gain points every time you use the app and share the good news (accumulated points can be exchange to Nescafe goodies such as mugs, shirt and a lot more!)

And last but not the least, you can also publish your newspaper and save it in your desktop (see photo above)…

Now I know where my third cup of coffee will be… reading my Kada Umaga newspaper, where else?
