I was bitten by the Holiday bug! Oh yes, tamad mode since the Holiday started and I thought I’d be better after the Holidays, I was wrong.. the mojo is still in vacation mode! That’s in terms of writing and working out (obvious ba, wala masyadong updates sa blog hehe). Good thing, I did not earned that much pounds during the break.. pero un lang I did not earned that much money din wahaha..

Now, it’s running season again! Run United registration is open.. waahh time to move na talaga! But it’s quite hard to get back to working out.. specially that I feel like I am busier that I was last year. I find it hard to squeeze working out to my schedule.. but I need to! by hook or by crook! And last week I found a good way to work out while doing some errands.. ang sagot sa problema ay PANDESAL! err not pandesal abs but buying pandesal every morning.

The pandesal store (it’s not a bakery, pandesal lang talaga tinda nya at sa umaga lang sya bukas) is 200-300 meters away from us. It will take about 5-10 minutes or more to buy pandesal (lalo pag mahaba ang pila).. one time, the kids are running late but I still need to buy their pandesal baon.. so I got my rubber shoes and run towards the store.. I was home in less than 5 minutes! whew! And that moment, my friends, is a moment of discovery! I can do that everyday! I can run to and from the pandesal store.. 2 birds in one stone! may pandesal na ang mga anak ko, naka pag work out pa ako! Ayayay! 

RU is quite challenging this year eh.. the shortest distance is 5k.. no more 3K. Unilab Active Health and RunRio are now focusing on longer distance because runners are progressing rapidly, they noticed that longer distance races get filled faster. Sabi nga ni Coach Rio, “This is in line with our plan to be part of the growth and journey of Filipino runners. It just goes to prove that the local running community is more mature, that is why we also launched the Run United Philippine Marathon (RUPM) last year. Filipino runners have leveled up.”

No worries mommies, they retained the 500m dash for the kids. For adults, the race categories  for 2013 Run United 1 include 5km, 10km and 21km; for Run United 2 (10km, 21km, and 32km); and for Run United Philippine Marathon (10km, 21km and 42km).

• Run United 1 on March 17, Run United 2 on June 2
• Run United Philippine Marathon on October 6.
• The Bull Runner Dream Marathon will kick off on February 24.

The kids will join the 500m dash of course.. so I am thinking of waking them up earlier than they should and join me with my pandesal jog 🙂

Friday na agad? Saan napunta ang linggo ko?

I have no idea how my week went.. I am really surprised it’s Friday already! Time flies really fast.. in a few more days, it will be March.. and school will be over.. and it will be summer!

And speaking of summer, we had an early summer last weekend 🙂 part of my birthday celebration. OK that reminds me how my week went.. rest the whole week! I was super tired that weekend.. imagine preparing for the party on Saturday (set up pool and cook food) and laundry on Sunday… Pagoda Coldwave lotion talaga ang peg ko that weekend. On Sunday afternoon, my whole body’s aching..specially my arms (ikaw ba naman maglaba ng 5 basket ng damit)..thank goodness for pain reliever!

And why two pools you may ask? because the little girl is afraid to swim on the bigger one, so we bought a smaller from her.. but when her sanko and kuya Dylan (cousin) joined her on the smaller pool.. she fall on the water and went to me crying (more like wailing haha):

sabi mo hindi ako malulunod doon sa maliit na swimming pool? eh bakit nalunod pa din ako?? waaaaah

We bought the crabs at Farmer’s Cubao (3 pieces for 1200 PhP) as well as the shrimp (600 per kilo) and also the tilapia (buhay pa yan noong nabili ko). The sigarilyas came from my garden and the mangoes from the crate we bought last week.

Kumpleto ang bulilits for this party.. actually that’s the reason why we had swimming party last weekend, kase ng kumpleto sila (cousins) and it seldom happens as both my nephews are living in the province.

There goes my week.. now I wonder what this weekend will give me?
