Testing And Knowing

When the call center industry made it to the news last week being associated with HIV, I was not shocked. Admittedly, this branding is not good on the industry but what makes me think is the fact that why them? Why is it that the number of HIV cases on that field is high? Aside from HIV testing, do they also got gonorrhea testing and other testing for sexually transmitted infections? I knew that a lot raised their eyebrow on that, specially that it seems that the news are telling that people from call center industry have HIV. Is it really the case? Or is it just a case study that was sensationalized?

Sexually transmitted disease are highly transmitted through casual sex. Having more than one partner can put you into high risk. They say that in the call center industry, casual sex is very ordinary. They also said that is one of the reason why the number of people testing positive are high. I have nothing to say about this topic but I do have some theories on why people on this industry are way liberated than any other. I will post about it later.

Sweet Tag

My dearest Marce Seiko tagged the Marce Club (guys if you are wondering how you can join the marce club, you cannot as this is not a group or a club, it is just a collective term for Sati’s godmothers, but right now I am cooking a SHE BLOGGERS CLUB where every she bloggers are welcome to join.. aka Marce Club extension.. will update as soon as I am done laboring).. ah yes back to the tag… oh well she tagged the whole marce club so that leaves me to tag friends next to the marce club, so that means you..

[arlene11feb.jpg]

Here are some simple mechanics:
1. Post this tag in your blog (multiple blogs allowed) with these mechanics.
2. Don’t forget to use the widget above linking to the site
3. Post a photo of anything that has the color red.
4. Include also a saying or quote related to LOVE or the LOVE MONTH.
5. Tag as many as you can and instruct them to get back to Arlene’s site to leave their url if they have joined.

And I think this is the most apt love quote for this photo.

Just because you know someone doesn’t mean you love them,
and just because you don’t know people doesn’t mean you can’t
love them. You can fall in love with a complete stranger in a
heartbeat, if God planned that route for you. So open your heart
to strangers more often. You never know when God will throw
that pass at you.

~ Heather Grove ~

See what we all got for opening our hearts to strangers, we got the marce club and now we will be forming the she bloggers club 🙂

More On Future Plan

Remember my article about my future plans? About living on my own and without asking much helps from my offspring? Well, in one of blog hopping activity, I learned about assisted living communities. Assisted living community is a place for people that needs assistance in their daily activities or which is known as ADL/ Activity for Daily Living. These are people who needs help but still wants to love life independently.

In assisted living facilities, they offer help with ADLs such as bathing, dressing and eating. They also give out help on doing the laundry, housekeeping and medications. The care given in assisted living is not as intensive as it is in the nursing home. Each individual resident that enrolls in assisted living are given a unique service plan. The service plan detailed the needs of the resident. The plan is also upgraded regularly as to meet the needs of the resident.

There is a big difference between nursing home and senior independent living. As we all know, in nursing homes, the residents are mostly frail and needs to be taken care of. They have greater needs and they cannot take care of themselves. Unlike in assisted living, the residents here are those who can manage simple activities such as walking on their own.

Maybe if hubby and I are older, we might consider living in in this kind of community as I learned that on average, there are 20 to 23 residents in each community. That would be a good number to socialize with, don’t you think?
