National Bookstore Create Your Own Notebook

Last week, I had the chance to meet with my friends in Megamall. That’s a default for me because it’s the nearest and almost complete mall I can ever be. It was actually a movie date but we end up at NBS to try National Bookstore Create Your Own Notebook.

It’s very new to me though I have seen a few FB posts how this is possible in Japan or other countries. It never crossed my mind that it would be available here in the Philippines! So thank you NBS for bringing National Bookstore Create Your Own Notebook.

National Bookstore Create Your Own Notebook

I bought two notebooks! One for me and the smaller one for Sati. I paid 500+ for my notebook while for Sati’s notebook, I only paid 250 Pesos.

National Bookstore Create Your Own Notebook Step by step:

  1. Choose the cover of your notebook. Depending on the size, the price range is 110 pesos to 20 pesos.
  2. Choose the fillers. They have 3 papers, lined, dotted and blank. The price also depends on the size of the paper.
  3. Choose the spiral.
  4. Extra: You can have it named! 30 Pesos only per line.
  5. Pay at the cashier and come back at National Bookstore Create Your Own Notebook station.

Good luck on not overspending!

4 Reasons Why Moms Use Wine To Relax

Wine has numerous health benefits to the body. However, most mums fail to realize that without being keen drinking of wine can lead to alcoholism. You might be thinking, “It’s only a daily intake of three or four glasses” but this can be the beginning of your captivity.

Most women use wine to relax and feel good because it has the ability to make them feel rejuvenated. When they feel a little bit stressed the first thing most think of is to get a glass of wine to relax.

Raised concerns have shown that most women gradually get addicted if they don’t monitor their wine intake. The rates at which moms are becoming alcoholics compared to men is gradually rising. Below are some of the reasons why moms use wine to relax.

It’s a central nervous system depressant

While wine is known to be a depressant, it can affect your metabolism when taken in large quantities. Although it is regarded as the best drink to help the body relax and maintain good health since it helps in food digestion, wine can affect the gut when taken in large amounts. This will also have a negative impact on your sleep. If you have gastric problems avoid consuming large amounts of wine.

Red wine activates and energizes the body

Apart from relaxing the body, wine boosts heart and muscle performance. This can be similar to going for a physical fitness session in the gym or taking home workout sessions. Red wine contains a compound called resveratrol that activates a protein that acts as an anti-aging agent. With your heart pumping in a healthy way and the presence of resveratrol, you indirectly increase your lifespan.

It enhances cognitive function

Most mums, especially stay at home mums sometimes spend a lot of time doing nothing. This is worse in cases where you are lazy or are not a lover of books. The brain neurons can easily die off if you are not actively engaging it.

With a single glass of wine, you can trigger your brain function and prevent brain conditions such as dementia. You can also take a glass of wine to boost your energy levels when exercising and keep your body active.

It lowers cholesterol levels

Most mums understand how hard it can be to have a bad diet. With a bad diet, there is the likelihood that your cholesterol levels might spike affecting your health. Cholesterol levels can also increase in mums that spend a lot of time doing nothing apart from eating and sleeping.

A glass of red wine at night after you’ve had your meal is a good way to lower cholesterol. You will also be promoting a healthy heart, reducing chances of getting diseases like high blood pressure.

Using wine to relax and for good health is fine but it can also be harmful if its intake is not regulated. Limit your intake of wine to avoid getting addicted and end up being an alcoholic. If you notice that you are gradually getting too accustomed to drinking wine and cannot control it, seek professional help. You will be of no use to your family and kids as an alcoholic mum.

5 Simple Things To Make You Feel Better

Being a stay at home for almost 15 years exposed me through a lot of problems, dilemma, and stress. Of course it’s all worth it but there are just time that you don’t really feel well. There are times when sadness kicks in and all you can think of is how you lost yourself for being a stay at home mom for so long. It happens to and I know it happens to you as well, so let me share with you my Feel Better Hacks, tried and tested!

5 Simple Things To Make You Feel Better

1. Pray. This is by far the most powerful make me feel better hack. No matter what your religion is, give yourself at least 5 minutes to talk to whom you believe is the most merciful being. Pray for mercy, ask for forgiveness, give thanks, and pray for strength.

I am born Catholic, reciting the Rosary really makes me feel better in a snap.

2. Take a bath. Take a longer than usual and warm bath. It helps if you have a hot shower. The sound of running water is very therapeutic and warm water is good for the circulation too. Deep condition your hair and use skin scrub. Cleaning your hair and body sometimes feels like stripping your self all the stress you feel. It really helps in keeping the mind calm and stress free.

3. Drink coffee or a cold drink. Drinking something more than just plain water keeps you refreshed. A really really cold water with a hint of mint can make you feel better in a snap. I buy my peppermint oil from Young Living.

4. Draw, Write, or Doodle. You don’t need a good bullpen to do this, grab the ballpen or pencil near you and start writing or doodling. I find drawing circles over and over again very therapeutic. And if you really really love writing, why don’t you start a blog? It really helps to get your thoughts out. It feels like you are talking to someone and not just yourself or your toddler. No idea how to start a blog? Here’s a very detailed guide: How To Start A Blog

5. Talk to someone. If there is no someone that you can talk to, talk to me on my FB page 🙂 I reply most of the times, specially if it is a mom needing help.

But if all else fails, diffuse an oil and sleep. A starter kit from Young Living already includes a diffuser and o10 kinds of oils. Let me know if you need help in buying, just send me a message on my Facebook Page: Mommy Blogger Pehpot
