LP: Lansangan

I can’ believe how time flies.. a bit fast for me.. I am not even done commenting back on LP participants who dropped by ta my site and today is LP day again! Anyway, this week’s theme is Lansangan.

This photo is taken on our way from Quiapo. This is along Recto or is it Mendiola (?), I ma not familiar with the name, but this street is very close to my heart. This used to be my playground.

Ang bilis ng panahon.. Huwebes na naman pala, araw na naman ng LP. At ngayong Linggo ang ating tema ay Lansangan.

Ang larawan sa taas ay kuha noong minsan kame ay ngpunta sa Quiapo (doon kase ako nagpapagawa ng salamin). Ito ang ceossing sa ilalim ng MRT Legarda Station. Kame ay nagngaling sa REcto Avenue, at sa aming kaliwa ay ang daan patungong Palasyo. Hindi naman ako masyadong pamilyar sa lugar na ito pero may maliit na bahagi ito sa aking puso. Ito ang nagsilbing “palaraun” ko noong “araw”.

Super Mario Brothers Costume

Just like Kaye of Random WAHM Thoughts, I am rekindling my youth. For the past few days, er, weeks, I am playing SUPER MARIO BROTHERS on my kids’ DS Lite. It started out as helping my kids through a certain world.. and now I can sense some addiction in me (give me that DS!!) The NEW SUPER MARIO BROTHERS in DS Lite is very fun. It was easy and you can actually cheat on the game to have, like, 50 lives! You can jump from one world to another. It’s so awesome I can’t stop!!!

It is not a surprise that when I saw these SUPER MARIO BROTHERS costume, I fell! Since my first born and my second born looks like a twin, these costume would fit them both! I WANT IT!! If only it’s not that expensive (but you can buy it for me) and shipping won’t take forever.. Is there any kind soul out there?

Anyway, I also heard that this is gonna be the next big thing in movies! I heard SUPER MARIO BROTHERS are set for the big screen. EYE CAN’T WAIT!

TCP: Silent Hill

Another movie for this week! I am really loving this meme. I really enjoy doing movie reviews or sharing to you guys how different (and Kaye can attest to that) my taste is. For this week the theme is Suspense or Thriller movie.

Silent Hill is a game turned movie. A lot of gamers who are very familiar with Silent Hill have a lot of things to say. First the story is not what it supposed to be or something to that effect. And as it with any movie coming from a book or a game or a series, the first of its kind is always the better. I don’t really mind as I am not familiar with the game. I only learned about this being a game after I finished watching it and I am looking for answers and all. I am always like that, after or before a movie, I could not stop digging for more information.

The movie Silent Hill is about a mother (Rose) and her adopted child, Sharon. Sharon is notorious for her sleep walking and the constant mention of Silent Hill while sleeping. Finally, Rose decided to take Sharon on a trip to the mysterious place. She wants to make an end to what is it that’s missing in Sharon’s life.

Arriving at Silent Hill, Sharon run away and Rose was greeted with mysterious events. A siren, a burned like figures haunting her. Finally another human being came to the rescue, a police officer. Together they discover the truth behind the mysterious place. Together they uncovered the past of her adopted daughter. There is a dark, dark secret that surrounds it all.

Meanwhile, her husband came down looking for Rose and their kid. It was later revealed that Rose, Sharon and the police officer was in a different dimension. It was a scene where the husband was roaming in Silent Hill, in a different Silent Hill and they almost bumped to each other. The husband discovered the history of the place, of where Sharon came from and how dark the place was.

Later it was revealed that Sharon came from Alessa. A very young and innocent but powerful girl. A girl who experienced nothing but worse from the townsfolk. A child who found solace in a very dangerous creature. Sharon was part of Alessa, the innocent Alessa. Now, Rose must face the challenge of saving her innocent Sharon and helping Alessa to finish her business with the townsfolk.

Sorry guys if this took so long, this is really my favorite movie of all time. More than a suspense film it also capture the love of a mother to her child, may it be her own or not. The movie was really captivating, story aside, the effects was really great. This a horror film that I really really love. It was not scary and to top it all it does not make me cringe (unlike Hostel and the likes..ugh!)
