Economic Power Begets Political Power

I never felt so discriminated before. I never felt so low before. Another reason why I am not into blog hopping this past few days. I have been dreaming about this so I guess I needed to write it down to take the burden out of my chest. It’s weekends and a night weekends post is nothing but rants. If you don’t want to read my mess, just go look for a happier article like this or this.

Anyway, have you ever been in a situation that you feel you are so low and that people thinks of you as that? I had my first taste of discrimination when I was in elementary. My mom was very keen on enrolling us on a private school. We are not that well off so our allowances are limited. There was a time when me and my two siblings were dividing the money and a schoolmate saw us. The look on her face and the way she commented made us feel that we are cheap and very poor. It did not affects me that much but it sure did introduced me to the word discrimination.

If you really know me, and my friends can attest to that, I hate discrimination, I never judged people base on how she/he looks or base on the number of credit card one has. I was not raised worshiping money. Me and my family are the type of people that values relationship more than money. When I chose to live with my husband, I knew where he is when it comes to finances. I never care as I have said I value relationship more and I am pretty sure that my sisters have the same belief as mine.

And what this rant all about?

Oh well for some reason, people around us misjudged my family, thinking we are after some moolah. I never felt so low in my life and only now that I wish I was born a millionaire. I know, some are just raised thinking money is everything and they apply the same perspective to people they met. I just can’t help feeling low about it.

Magsusulat na lang ako ng magsusulat at sana kumita ako ng dolyar at maisampal sa mga impaktong nang aalipusta sa pamilya ko. HMP!

The Many Faces Of Lapu Lapu

Since I had my DSLR, it has been my dream to go to a local wet market and capture the action and the rawness of what’s in store. Hubby made it possible last week. After our NIDO Fortified Science Discovery Center experience, we went to the nearest food haven in Pasay. I am not sure what they call this place but it is very near Mall of Asia, about a kilometer away I guess. Anyway, in this food haven, you have a choice of doing your own wet market shopping, bring it to a restaurants and have them cook the food. They have cooking charge of course. There are a lot of restaurants on the area and I guess it is safe to assume that they charge appropriately.

And so, there is a small market just a few steps away from the restaurants. I was really happy that hubby said it’s OK to bring my cam along. I had fun taking photos of fish, shrimps and the like. I did not get to see the “wet market action” as the place is not as busy as a real wet market. It was great nonetheless.

Mommy Moments- Rain Rain Go Away

mommy moments

I missed last week’s Mommy Moments. Last week’s theme is about shades. My kids don’t have any. I don’t buy them any as much as possible, I cannot wear shades, why would they? LOL

This weeks theme is Rain, Rain, Go Away. I thought I won’t find an entry or that I have to wait for a rainy Thursday to have a rainy day shoot with the boys. Good thing I remembered our Baguio trip.

This was taken in the balcony of the apartelle we stayed in. It was raining then and the kids are wishing hard: Rain, Rain, Go Away.. we wanna play biking today!

Join us in Mommy Moments, click the badge to see more rainy moments. I hope to see some kids on Plueys!
