Elmer’s Grand Slime Time Fair 2018

I have been hearing slime for years now but it was only this year that I finally gave in. For one, akala ko kase hindi sya kid friendly, I just can’t imagine my kids using detergent as part of their play. Also, borax is hard to find.. eh you dont need those pala. There are slime recipes that does not need borax and detergent. And you can even add ingredients to make your slime look better (and feel better too!) That’s what we learned from Elmer’s Grand Slime Time Fair 2018! We learned how to make a crunchy slime!

Other participants learned how to make galaxy slime,  glow in the dark slime, rainbow slime, frosty slime, unicorn slime, jelly slime, and even sand slime. We also got the chance to see Elmer’s glue products that are perfect for every slime recipes. Watch our VLOG below:

Basic Slime Recipe

Before you can make any of those slimes mentioned and plan to join the Slime Squad contest, you need to know the basic slime recipe. The ingredients are Elmer’s Glue, baking soda, lotion, shaving cream, and contact lens solution. Here’s the step by step guide:

  1. Pour all content of Elmer’s glue in a mixing bowl
  2. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda, then mix
  3. Add 1/2 tablespoon lotion (or 1 pump if you’re using a lotion with pump) then mix
  4. Add shaving cream, 1 tablespoon (or big one pump), then mix
  5. Add the activator which is the contact lens solution. Add 1 tables spoon at a time. Add more to reach a thick consistency.
  6. Get the slime and start kneading.. squeeze, shape, mold, and repeat.

That last part is super fun. Nakakawala sya ng stress promise!

And if you want a colorful slime, you don’t need to add colors, just use Elmer’s Washable Color Glue. If you want a slime with glitters, just use Elmer’s Classic Glitter Glue. But my most favorite part is Elmer’s Glow in the dark glue. You can never go wrong with Glow in the darks.

All this Elmer’s Glue products are available at National Bookstore. Other Elmer’s products that you can buy at National Bookstore are Elmer’s Slime Starter Kit, Elmer’s Frosty Slime Kit, and Slime Time accessories.

3 Reasons Why Kids Ink Is A Must Visit

We were invited to the opening of the newest store in Taguig: Kids Ink Store. Located on the 2nd floor of One Bonifacio High Street, 5th Avenue corner 28th street, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, Kids Ink store should be on your top must visit list before Christmas.

VLOG: KIDS INK STORE OPENING
Please watch my Kids Ink store opening VLOG and see for yourself how awesome this store is. Still not convinced? Here are three reasons why you should visit Kids Ink. BRING ALL THE KIDS!

Kids Ink store is curated for kids. And for a mom of 5 kids with different ages, I can honestly say that all my 5 kids will love this place. Books for all kids ages, from infant to teens, specially series books that my teens love. Harry Potter, Riordan, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Kids Ink have that. I even found a Harry Potter illustrated version for Prisoner of Azkaban (last copy! woohooo!).

And it’s not just about books, Kids Ink have arts and crafts section, educational toys, games, board games, and even party supplies. It’s a one stop shop for our kids, and for those planning to buy gifts for kids, Kids Ink is a must visit.

Kids Ink store makes shopping less stressful for moms. The store is big and well lit, kids can roam freely and there’s even an area where kids can play. During the opening of Kids Ink store, I was able to VLOG while Marius and Sofi plays Lego and read books. Ang saya saya ko sa part na yan.

Kids Ink store is a venue to a series of workshops for kids. During the opening of Kids Ink store, my kids had the chance to join the Elmer’s Glue Slime workshop. And according to Kids Ink, there will be workshops DAILY and most of these are FREE. 5 Ways To Encourage Kids To Drink More Water

Our body is composed mainly of water and it is being taught in the school too. But even though the kids know about the importance of water for their body they are still not conscious about it. And some parents are not aware too that their kids are not drinking enough water. But before I tell you some tried and tested 5 Ways To Encourage Kids To Drink More Water, let us answer first the very basic question: How many water does a kid needs? We know that adults need at least 8 glasses of water or at least 2 liters of water a day. How about the kids? Do they need the same amount of water too? Is 8 glasses of water not too much for the kids?

From Healthy Kids, kids ages 5 to 8 years old need at least 5 glasses of water of 1 L. Kids ages 9-12 years old need at least 7 glasses while kids 13 years old and up needs 8-10 glasses of water. I am quite surprised when I first learned about this. Clearly, my kids are not drinking enough water. It’s a sad discovery for me but the good thing is I can do something about.

How to encourage the kids drink more water? Here are tried and tested 5 Ways To Encourage Kids To Drink More Water:

1 L bottle water with straw. That’s the first thing we did. We started with 1 L even with the older kids. I bought them drinking bottles with straw. I make sure that within the day, they were able to finish all what’s in there. From there we work on making it 2 bottles per day.  The straw really helped them in making it easier to drink water.

Make water available. This can be really tricky at first and can be very stressful for the mom. You need to always make sure that there is a supply of water for the kids. It can be cold or warm depending on what they like. My kids like it cold so I always make sure that their water bottle is full of cold water all day.

Timed Drinking. This is very helpful in establishing a routine for the kids. Make drinking an hourly habit. This works well with kids who are not yet going to school, that age is the best age too to practice drinking more water.

Water only please.  Your house should not offer any other drinks, only water. Here in our household, we seldom buy colored drinks such as fruit juices and soda.

Remind. Remind. Remind. Yes you need to do it not just twice, thrice but every chance you can get. If it needs to be reminded every 30 minutes, do it.

Water is very crucial to the body specially in boosting the immune system and keeping the kids healthy. I hope your kids are drinking enough water.
