Choosing the Perfect Baby Car Seat

It’s a very exciting time for most people when they discover they’re expecting a little one;

however, the costs involved in looking after babies are far from cheap and easy. One of the main things you’ll have to purchase when the baby is nearly due is a car seat. Bringing your baby home from hospital is a beautiful experience, and the perfect car seat can make the trip back home even better for you and your baby.

Choosing the best infant car seat isn’t easy, but with the right advice and some good tips, you’ll be well on your way to finding that dream car seat that fits your car, your baby and your budget.

The first thing to remember when looking for baby car seats is that you should never take
a second-hand car seat from somebody. The main reason for this is the fact that you just
don’t know the history of that seat. As trivial as it may sound, it’s important because the car seat may have been involved in a crash or simply not have the technology needed to protect your baby in the most effective way possible.

Depending on the age of your baby, you should choose between rear-facing and front-facing car seats. Until your baby is about two years old, you should always buy a rear-facing seat. Seats facing the rear of your car protect your baby so much better, so this is an extremely important factor to consider when buying a car seat.

Finally, take your car into consideration. The seats fitted in cars vary from vehicle to vehicle, so it’s highly recommended that you try out the car seat in your car before purchasing it. The last thing you need is to buy a seat that doesn’t fit in your car when you get home!

Little Tikes Cozy Cottege Playhouse Review (and other Little Tikes products)

It’s a long drive from here and I even found rv repair stations along the way.. The reason why we went and drove all the way to Pasong Tamo (Little Tikes Showroom)is to buy the little girl her dream playhouse and some Little Tikes items. Before we went there, I already listed and computed what we will buy. Our list includes Little Tikes Cozy Cottege Playhouse, Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym and and Little Tikes Whale Teetter Totter. We all got it for 30% off the original price.. all those under 20,000 PhP.

Little Tikes Whale Teetter Totter is a very fun totter. The kids love that seesaw feel.. but what they love the most is the fact that, not only 2 kids can enjoy it, in fact it can carry almost all of them:

I am actually planning to buy another one for the kids.. maybe after the Holiday.. we need some clearing up to do to make space for another one. We got Little Tikes Whale Teetter Totter for only PhP2,799.82 (Before  PhP 3,999.75)

Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym turns out not just an activity gym for them but also serves as their “tambayan”:

I wanted to get the bigger one but it’s a bit more expensive and needs more space.. we settled for this because it’s perfect for Sati and Chico and can still be enjoyed by the big boys.

Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym is very easy to assemble, you just have to be very keen on following the instruction on the manual.

Little Tikes Cozy Cottege Playhouse is a bit hard, uh no.. make that really hard. You will need an automatic screw driver, a hammer and a lot of patience. And I am just so glad that husband had so much patience that day.. that’s how much he love that pretty princess. An hour after trying to assemble it with just a screw driver on hand, he gave up and went to a hardware near us.. we bought a Black and Decker cordless screw driver and a hammer. After that, everything went from hard to easy peasy. But it still took 3 persons to assemble it. The plastics are really hard and heavy.. but oh boy! all the effort was worth it. The smile on our princess and our boys were priceless..

And here’s how our living room looked:

That’s a rubber mat I bought at Homeworks (Ever Gotesco) and it is really sturdy.. of course not as thick as the one in the playhouses inside malls but it’s really nice for home use. The rubber mat I bought for 500 PhP (4 pcs).

*After we bought the playhouse, we realized she also needs play pretend toys such as plates, utensils, pots and of course play pretend food.. now we know what kind of toys she really wants, and yes Barbie is not included on her list.

Sati Moments

you know.. I just have to share.. hahaha

Having 3 boys, I always say that I don’t mind if I’ll never have a baby girl.. I always say babies are the same, girls or boys, they are angles.. a blessing to us parents. Then I had Sati and oh boy, our world turned upside down! And it never fails to make me teary eyed whenever I say my thank you prayer for giving us such a wonderful, adorable and very pretty blessing.. our family (extended..my mom included, sisters too, hey she’s the only girl in the family so far) is always overwhelmed by her..I guess that’s how it really feels after 5 boys (3 from me and 1 each from my two sisters). Now that she’s 2.. we just can’t enough of her Sati  says moments.. she have an opinion for almost everything! She’s a very smart little girl, she already knows what she wants and knows how to express it..

and here are some of her recent she says moments:

while we were watching America’s Top Model all star.. there was a commercial about clothes.. Sati said:

Mommy bili tayo damit ko (Mommy, let’s buy clothes for me.)

after I cooked chicken pandan and put the dish on the table.. I went to my desk and checked my email and FB.. Sati said:

Mommy wala na work, kain na tayo. (Mommy, stop working, let’s eat.)

and while we were eating, her sangko coughed and she handed him a cup of water and said:

Beh, tubig o.. (she calls her sangko, beh>> short for baby hahaha)  (here’s water beh)

That’s how she is different from her siblings and her cousins, she is just the most thoughtful girl in the world! She would pacify her siblings whenever they would cry..she’s very sensitive to our need.. and she’s just two years old!

My little Sati, you make Mommy very happy!
