What my kids are like, and how to raise your child/children in this day and age.

Smart Steps Review

Have you noticed already? oh no don’t tell me you haven’t??? Well actually, I have been trying to make things a bit more organized here.. so I have been trying really really hard to set topic each day, say every Wednesday is supposedly a product of the week day.. in which I will post about some of the products that I discovered or products that we have been using for years and really deserves to be featured here.. well it seems 4 kids and a thousand house hold chores will not let me follow the said post scheduling.. and supposedly this post has been published last Wednesday,, and only now that I had the time to do it and try the product..

So for my product of the week, here it is:

During the Parentin TV 2nd anniversary celebration, Tintin Bersola- Babao introduced to us to Smart Steps, a baby cleaning products. The product line includes Baby Laundry Detergent, mild and safe, no dyes, no bleach and no optical brightness. It also includes Baby Fabric Softener (mild and safe, fresh linen scent and no artificial colorant) and Baby Bottle Cleanser (easy rinse formula, no phosphate and no dyes). We were given a bag each that includes powder detergent, liquid detergent and bottle cleanser.

The bottle cleanser I tried a few days ago. It was a clear liquid, consistency is not that thick. It smells like a bubble gum.. though not that really strong. As per the instruction, you need to dilute it in water and soak the bottle and nipples (and other baby items) for about 30 minutes. Then use a brush and sponge to clean the items then rinse. When I used it, I noticed that it is very easy to rinse and does not leave any smell on the bottle.

The liquid detergent and the powder detergent smells the same, not too strong but has a hint of Jasmine. I used it yesterday for Sati’s clothes. It’s not that bubbly but it sure does clean the clothes, judging from the smell after washing it. Today, some of her clothes are already dry, I asked my sister to smell it and she said that it really smells clean and fresh.

Next week, I will feature the malungay powder that I usually put on their fried rice. It’s a powder that was also introduced to us during the Parentin.TV aniversary..swerte talaga I was invited to that event, as in! I learned a lot and at the same time I learned some great products for us.

I am really trying to be organized here.. and I actually want products feature to be organized too, like 1st week of the month devotes to baby products, 2nd week is for mommy products, 3rd week is for food products, 4th week is for household items and if there is an extra week, it can be for miscellaneous like insurance or annuities online or gadgets. I really wish I can follow this post scheduling scheme.. but if I can’t, I hope you put up with my crazy posting  🙂

EDIT: Smart Steps are available in Rustans/Shopwise, Landmark Supermarket and Dept Store, SM Hypernarket, SM Supermarkets, Savemore, Cash & Carry, Unimart and Alabang Supermarket.

The Wonders Of Fried Rice

If you are a busy mom like me, 5 kids (my kids plus my nephew), no house help (but sister is here to help me), more than 10 blogs and a husband to please, more likely than not, you almost have no time to cook… and yeah sometimes I do not have time to cook and we rely on cookies, pandesal or even noodles for breakfast. I know it’s not good for the kids health so I always look for ways to shorten my cooking time without sacrificing the food quality. Fried rice is the answer to busy moms like me.

It’s a complete meal..rice, veggies, meat, shrimp, chicken and egg. And if you want, you can even add more veggies and the kids won’t even notice.

What I did was cooked 2 kaldero of rice, so that’s more than 10 cups of rice. I added shrimp, chicken, ham, carrots and celery and fried rice seasoning that I bought from SM Hypermarket. I prepared it last Saturday and placed it in a microwavable plastic wares. Every night, I took a container out so that it will defrost. The next morning, I cook the egg then pour the fried rice and heat it. It really saves me a lot of time, not to mention that I am more confident giving it to my kids.

And to add more healthy factor on their fried rice, we add some malunggay powder on it. So far, the kids are loving it.

The fried rice photo is not my fried rice but from one of our trips at Man Han.

JOHNSON’s My Kid’s Growing Up So Fast Contest

Her name is actually older than she is.. we have been saving it since 2005. Sofia Ananta.. It’s a Russian- Indian name.. Sofia which means wisdom, Ananta which means endless…

After giving birth to baby boy in 2003, we have been hoping for a baby girl but only after 2 more boys that our wish has been granted. To say that she is the princess is an understatement. She is the center of our attention, the only girl in the family… the one we waited for so long. When I first learned about her gender, I was ecstatic, we were all ecstatic, from my first born down to the third and so are my siblings, specially my mom. My husband of course was smiling ears to ears.

When we had her, every one wants to cuddle, hug and kiss.. And because she is very special to us, we only trusted one brand for her skin.. Johnson’s Baby Milk Bath. Now that she’s a toddler, she still use the same product. She’s growing more and more right before our eyes!

That’s her a few hours after I gave birth to her.. still in the nursery, getting ready to meet mommy for the first time 🙂

Here, she’s ready for a dip… growing really fast. Before, even her toes are covered, here, she does not even care that her big tummy is exposed and she’s liking it!

When she turns one, we were all surprised how big she is and the antics that she can do.. she can stand by herself and speak a lot of words. She even know how to kiss with a smacking sound and really knows how to appreciate things.

This was early this year and look how she is starting to learn how to pose for the camera..and she is very meticulous with her clothes.. she even go with us when we shop.

And this is her most recent photo.. she knows how to pose like a real mowdel! She’s really growing up so fast, it seems like just yesterday when we brought her home and now she’s a very big girl already.. doing things that really amazed us and make us very proud.

This is one of her growing up so fast moment.. she knows how to brush her teeth already! not only that, she really knows how to gargle! I can’t imagine what other things she can a few more months from now.. I bet she’ll be asking for the car keys or using my pc on her own..

She is changing before my eyes but his/her skin is still like a baby’s. We still need the gentle care of JOHNSON’s Baby Milk Bath, with Vitamins A&E and 100% more milk proteins to nourish developing skin.

And just when I thought I had it all with her antics, I caught her tinkering my gadget!

She really is growing up so fast!

Now dear mommies.. do you want a gift pack from Johnson’s? Here’s how to:
