Sandalias Festival 2010

Sandalias Festival 2010, Step Into Some Love is a two day event that lets Ipanema, Rider and Grendha patrons, experience Brazil. The highlight of the event is the big Ipanema Pinata..

This Pinata comes with more than a hundred prizes, ranging from magazines, Brazilian wax from lay Bare (see even the down under can experience Brazil!), 500 Pesos, Slippers certificate, and even Boracay accommodation and Cebu pacific tickets. Now I am not lucky enough but was able to snatch a few Brazilian wax cert.. which I will be giving away soon 😉 But my little boy was happy with all the confetti!

Other than the huge Pinata and huge prizes, there were also some activities that was worth trying out. Too bad for me, I had my first day then.. waaah.. I so wanna try wall climbing! Good thing that at the photo booth, I does not require much movements..

Another activity that I badly want to try was the Rider’s Ride and surf..if not for the Foot Massage booth, I would have thought that day was not my lucky day.. but it’s still is!

Toying around with Chico as we wait for my turn…ahh.. finally! And look! They are using my favorite baby products! yay!

On with the program.. we were entertained by Steps Dance Project. A dance number full of action, tropical lifestyles and some Mafia like stunts.

Chic women were treated to free hand pampering and nail art to match their Brazilian sandals.

And if there is one more thing to rave about… the FOOD!!! cocktails! oh and I mean oh, oh, oh.. the chicken liver in bacon and cheese are just.. OK that was indeed my LUCKY DAY!

Dessert As Comfort Food: Red Ribbon’s Most Comforting Food

I gave up chocolate cakes some months ago. Most chocolate cakes, is too sweet for me, specially if I pair it with my comfort food, which is COFFEE. Now you must know, I love my coffee creamy and sweet so just imagine if you pair that to a chocolate cake. Too much, I know. So instead of chocolate, we usually have ube cake here. Ube Macapuno Roll to be exact. But of course, we cannot deny the fact that there is always a longing for chocolate cake, something that is right for my sweet and creamy coffee. And what’s with the chocolate cravings?

Science offers an explanation about this magical ingredient that Aztecs used to worship. Chocolate contains tryptophan and phenylethylamine, chemicals that stimulate secretion of hormones like endorphins. These produce feelings of elation, attraction, and pleasure. How wise those Aztecs were.

And lucky for us, Red Ribbon whipped up a version of the classic chocolate cake with its new Chocolate Fudge Cake. This sure comfort food list-topper is made with its moist chocolate pound cake layered with luscious chocolate fudge filling and then smothered with velvety chocolate icing. It’s the kind that will make you savor every bite, scrape off the last bit of crumb and icing on the plate, and then lick the fork clean.

Trying out Barbie’s fashion and glittery hut.. she says it’s too big for her…Barbie Fashionista Birthday Bash was a fun filled activity for girls. Pretty little girls that comes in their cute pink outfit or fierce pink outfit. The kids were treated with a Barbie Makeover, Barbie gameswith Barbie prizes of course! And they also won some PINKTASTIC treats (from Barbie doll to Barbie cake!)

September Celebrants were treated with cakes and of course a Happy Birthday song.. aside from the make over, the little ladies were also given a Barbie loot bag and a pink cupcake to match the theme..

But of course, this event was even more fun because Sati bonds with Ate Kyla.. Ninang Chris’ daughter..
