Game Ideas For Family Reunions

Family reunions are generally joyous occasions that would almost always involve conducting some games. A reunion is an exciting time for people who do not get to see each other as often as they’d like to. It is a gathering of several generations of relatives and extended families where members get to share their experiences with each other or young members seek the counsel of elder members. Basically though, it is having fun while being surrounded by the comfort of family love.

Games involving large groups are foolproof ways to break the ice as they involve the participation of many. Relay races such as sack race, egg race and three-legged race are particularly enjoyable. Scavenger hunts involving large teams are also interesting. In deciding on teams, it would be better to split immediate family members so that everyone can get to play with other families. This encourages the renewal of old ties and the initiation of new ones.

Games that involve winning a particular prize can be played while resting from physically exhausting games. These would include games such as slot machine, Spin the Wheel and Guess the Number of Marbles in a Jar, among others. Other more relaxing games which are equally fun include Board Games, Family Trivia and Baby Face – a guessing game of family baby pictures.

When everybody is all ready to start up on more energetic games again, the party host can conduct the Musical Chairs, Hide and Seek and the Tug of War. Kids can have the chance to show off their talents through a talent show which does not necessarily need to become a contest. It can simply showcase the family’s rich pool of talents which are all appreciated and acknowledged.

Family reunions are not complete without picture taking and video coverage which help in preserving memories that can be relieved on future reunions. Renting a venue is the most practical so that the burden of cleaning up after does not rest on one although family members can all agree to help if the occasion is held in the house of one of the family members.

My Inspiration

This is my official entry to Inspirational Insights First Blogversary Contest.

When asked what inspire me.. I have only one answer.. my family (kids and hubby).

My kids give me strength, happiness and life. I never thought I can love as much as this. I never thought I can feel as much happiness as this.. but with them.. everything is possible.

I always strive hard to be better person because of my kids. I always work hard to be a better mom for them. I always try to be a better wife for my husband, to be someone that he deserve.

Everyday is a brand new day with them, a very exciting day and a very fulfilling day. At night, I am overwhelmed and very thankful for having my kids and being with their dad.

They are my inspiration..

well aside from my kids, I always drew inspiration to the people that is very close to my heart, my mom, my siblings and now, my friends.. the marce club.

I met a lot of friends before and I am still at friends with them but the friendship I found through the marce club is really something. I drew inspiration from the experiences the marces shared with me. I am just so lucky to have friends who understand and shares the same passion (motherhood and blogging) as mine.

My Family Is Growing

Last night, while were were eating on the dinning table, I realized that in no time at all, we will be needing a larger casual dining furniture. Right now we are using a 6 seater dinning set. Our usual set up is, I seat on the other end (I am the head of the family LOL), on my right side is Kayil, on my left is Mico. My older angel (helper) sits besides Kayil and hubby sits beside Mico. My younger angel sits on the other end. Time will come that Chico will be sitting with us and so is Sati, so we will be needing an 8 seater dinning table.

As early as now, I am already looking on the net for styles in dining furniture. Of course, we all want our dinning table to be elegant and yet sturdy. I also want a dinning table where I can be comfortable doing other stuffs. I sometimes do my job on our dinning table and not on my table. My table faces the wall, where as, dinning table is on the center of our “dinning area”. I can sit to the side where I can also watch TV. But if ever I would buy one, maybe I will keep our old table. It was one of the few things that we still use after the flood. I think it will always remind us about humanity, humility and how to care of the environment.
