Join Knorr Lutong Nanay Food Fair And Help Battle Malnutrition

Do you know that at least 5 million children are malnourished here in our country? That data comes from Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the DOST. Ang taas no? Malnutrition is really an issue here in our country.

Knorr, being known in empowering Filipinos to cook flavorful, nutritious and affordable meals everyday, took action and started its “Lutong Nanay” Nutrition Program in various barangays and communities nationwide. In the fight against malnutrition, Knorr promotes the importance of healthy meals prepared by moms for their kids.

Knorr partnered with Kabisig Kalahi for the Metro Manila leg of this program. Akala nyo namigay lang sila ng food? The program is more than that.. sabi nga  ng famous quote, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” at ganyan ang ginawa ng Knorr, with simple, easy to follow, healthy meals, moms learned how to provide their kids with delicious and nutritious dishes.

Here are some of the activities that Knorr Lutong Nanay program has been doing:

Knorr recently visited two barangays in Smokey Mountain, Barangay 101 and Barangay 128, with its ambassadors. Dimples Romana, Danica Sotto-Pingris and Sari Jorge joined forces to help educate moms and children the importance of a healthy diet for the family. Over a meal of afritada, they also shared their personal experiences, cooking secrets and how they entice their kids to eat a healthy, balanced meal with the help of Knorr.

“It was a beautiful experience na makasama ang katulad kong Knorr Lutong Nanay moms together with our children in sending out a message to all the other Filipino moms like us to join in our fight against malnutrition,” said Dimples Romana.

Meanwhile, ambassadors Carmina Villaroel and Chesca Kramer joined Knorr at the Cardinal Sin Village. Mothers and children collectively learned the importance of a vigorous diet for the family. The program was a good exchange of insights, experience and learnings not only from the ambassador, but from resident mothers as well.

“Feeding our families nutritious food doesn’t have to be expensive. What’s important is that we give them a well-balanced meal every day,” says Carmina Villaroel.

As the theme of sharing experiences and learnings continued, one mother shared, “Ngayon, kaya ko nang magluto ng pagkain na hindi lang masarap, masustansya pa.” Another participant shared how she realized the importance of preparing healthier meals for her family by incorporating vegetables in their meal plan unlike before, where they usually prepare meals with minimal consideration to nutritional value.

Tayong mga nanay, bilang kadalasang tiga handa ng pagkain, can really help in the fight against malnutrition in Filipino children by serving healthy meals to our family. Here’s my share of Knorr Lutong Nanay meal:

Sinigang na baboy where I used two Knorr Sinigang Mix variants: with Gabi and with sili… try nyo yan mga inay, mas magiging masarap ang sinigang ninyo.

It’s a long way to go but Knorr’s ongoing program is a big step towards fighting malnutrition in Filipino children.

To take an active role in alleviating malnutrition, join Knorr and its partners for the first Lutong Nanay Nutrition Program Food Fair:

Curtains From Divisoria

We’ll be moving really really soon! Eto na talaga yun.. but as I close one box after the other, hindi ko pa rin masyado ma feel..

Pero kanina, while trying out the curtains.. bigla akong napaiyak.. biglang nag sink sa akin lahat. ITO NA TALAGA!!! MAY BAHAY NA TALAGA KAME!!

huhuhuhuhuhu

after 15 years of being together and 12 years of building a family.. may bahay na talaga kame.. amin na to! wala ng bawian! waaaaaaah  huhuhu waaaaah

About the curtains…

We got ours (I’ll post a photo tomorrow) from Divisoria. Etong laki ng tyan kong to, naka Divi pa ako no? I was just browsing for Divisoria curtains prices when I came across Curtains Divisoria Facebook page. I added the owner and she replied within the day. Naku business owners, take note!

Ate Gina (owner of Gina’s Curtains/ Curtains Divisoria Page) is very accomodating.. lahat ng tanong ko, sagot sya agad and their curtains were priced reasonably! In short, mura ang kurtina ni ate Gina!

After a few PM exchanges, husband and I went to Divisoria, found their stalls inside 999 Mall, choose from the designs available.. bought our curtains and curtain rods and we’re done in less than 3 hours. WHAT?!? Divisoria in less than 3 hours?!? RECORD BREAKER yan!

A panel of 90 (lenght) by 60 (more or less) inches curtain is around 300-350. For linens or lace like curtains the price is the same.

Price of wood like curtain rods starst at 220 PhP, mas mahaba, mas mahal syempre.

Where to find ate Gina’s Curtains in Divisoria?

It’s inside 999 Mall, 3rd floor, sa Pasillo 3H-11 at 3P- 17.

If you want to inquire before going to Divisoria, add ate Gina on Facebook and pm her na lang, promise mabilis sya sumagot (at pwede tumawad! haha)

P.S. may option din sila ate Gina na made to order or gagawin nila while you wait 🙂
