Halloween Party/ 9th Birthday Party

last week was like a career shift for me.. from Mommy blogger to an events organizer! hahahaha

Wednesday was Scout investiture… Thursday was UN Parade and school Halloween Party… and first born’s school party for his 9th birthday (yes, he do celebrate his birthdays not just once.. this year, we had 4 celebrations! one was when we went to Tagaytay and a Marites Crab treat at Claw Daddy.. second was his real birthday.. where he blew a small cake.. third was the school celebration and the fourth one was the Halloween party here at home)

The party turned out so good.. the kids had so much fun and enjoyed their loot bags (ay shucks I forgot to take a photo of the loot bags.. but it was a simple bag made out of black cartolina for the boys and orange for the girls).. I declared a candy war prior to his party.. so no candies on the loot bag.. just toys, stickers and some biscuits. We had Beyblade (not original no) and books and stickers as prizes for the games (trip to Jerusalem, Pinoy Henyo, Stop dance, disjointed hands eating contest and longest greetings)…

For our food, I prepared a few scary and “it’s so gross, I can’t eat it” kind of goodies:

The bloody glass, the used cotton buds and the mouth piece came from The Peach Kitchen… ah no.. she did not delivered those goodies or creepies here.. I got it from her blog.. from her collection of Halloween Recipe 🙂

The fingers and the worms and the mouse.. got it from the web (but gosh I can’t remember where!) Basically the chopped fingers were done using a wheat bread and some almonds.

The rats were done using cherries, kissed, almonds, melted chocolate and Nerds (for the eyes). Just dip the cherries to a melted chocolate (I use an ordinary milk chocolate, Goya, to be exact and the fact that it hardens easily adds character to the rat’s body). The kissed were used as the head, the almonds as ears and the red Nerds as eyes.. nobody ate it but me.. they were so grossed out by the idea of eating rat.. wahahahaha

The kids liked the used cotton buds the most.. they enjoyed it so much! The fingers, since no one wants it (yes even I couldn’t take it) were used in one of the games.. finger eating contest! The first one to finish a finger wins! hahahaha Tita Sam brought sinful cupcakes!

The decors? Monique’s back turned into a funky jack o lantern vampire! I also made a few rosettes (inspired by Ava’s party styling).. it’s so haaaard to do pala! amateur na amateur ang drama ng mga rositas ko! parang kinulang sa dilig na rosas wahaha.. a few DIY decors.. a black curtain with orange papers hanging on it.. and a few cobwebs.. and there goes our Halloween Party!

more photos!

Stop Dance with Psy

Our Garfield visitor.. who thought the paper was lasagna! hahaha

and of course.. friends…

err till next Saturday I mean! hahahaha

TGIF: The Best Siblings!

a long overdue post.. not naman that long.. pero this was supposed to be for last Friday.. you know TGIF! but 4 events last week and I was drained.. ubos na ubos ang lahat sa akin! in fact it was only now that I’m starting to recover.. and yet another party is coming! Sometimes I wish I have the energy of a horse and tentacles of an octopus.. ano kaya itsura noon no? Horse na Octopus pa haha

So let me start this TGIF post by saying hello to November! I don’t have to claim you because since I was born, you are already mine.. you see, my mom was born on this month.. and I am more than lucky to have her.. so yes, from the very first day that I was with my mom, November is already my month.. but the greatness of November was doubled 3 years ago.. when a little princess made her way to our home.. or is she an angel? whatever, she’s the best thing that ever happened to us.. she made us complete (argh teary eyed again! I guess my eyes will never stop shedding tears for being so thankful to your arrival my little girl)…

October went by and left us with so many blessings… too much that my energy was not able to keep up hahaha

I am so thankful for having the best siblings in the world..who are always there whenever I need them.. my parties would never be successful if not for them.. for late nights preparations and never ending jokes.. I am so blessed to have them.

Thankful for a mother that never got tired of me.. and to her magic that works.. always.. iba ang powers mo mudra! ibang iba!

Thankful for the ever understanding husband.. and of course to my kids.. and thankful for the 9 challenging and yet fulfilling years of being a mom haha

This month, I know there is more that I would be thankful of… so Hello there November.. let’s celebrate your arrival with a blast!

Scout Investiture and United Nations Parade

and the stage mom award, goes to…

Me!

Oh gosh! me?!? I didn’t expect this.. and all I did last week was be there with my son.. er or maybe not! hahaha

Last Wednesday was his scout Investiture.. and of course, I have to be there, for photo ops ano pa and for the alampay ceremony..the test was.. attend the said ceremony with two toddlers in hand (OK I almost lost my patience back there haha)

After the ceremony, I had to rush to Quiapo to look for United Nations costume.. lagare kung lagare! My son is Mr Japan, so I had to look for Japan costumes. One of the yaya said, I can buy cheaper United Nations costume at Quiapo.. so there.. good thing it was still early, no traffic yet. I got his Japan costume for only 500 PhP (or 450 ata argh I can’t remember!) OK I’ll make another post for that.. kase while I was there, the mommy blogger in me took place and I interviewd the staff on the prices of United Nations costumes they offer 🙂 After Quiapo, I went straight to Divisoria for the upcoming parties (first born’s and only girl’s birthdays). And I found another cheap store that sells party favors (OK anther post on that one.. hala ang dami ko ng utang na post! waaah)

Thursday.. and it was not just United Nations Parade.. their Halloween Party comes after.. as well as first born’s “school party”

My Emperor! buti may long wig ako that serves as his hair dress (ang mahalia jacksn ng hair dress sa Quiapo!).

United Nations 2012 Mr and Ms Japan! After the short parade, I have to rush back home to cook spaghetti for the party.. and my boy went from Emperor to a Japanese Vampire! hahaha

And because Kuya loves his little brother so much.. he turned Chico into a vampire too! hahaha

at ang aking kangaragan ay hndi natapos jan.. may Halloween Party/Birthday Party pa sa bahay noong Saturday!
bow.
