More On Future Plan

Remember my article about my future plans? About living on my own and without asking much helps from my offspring? Well, in one of blog hopping activity, I learned about assisted living communities. Assisted living community is a place for people that needs assistance in their daily activities or which is known as ADL/ Activity for Daily Living. These are people who needs help but still wants to love life independently.

In assisted living facilities, they offer help with ADLs such as bathing, dressing and eating. They also give out help on doing the laundry, housekeeping and medications. The care given in assisted living is not as intensive as it is in the nursing home. Each individual resident that enrolls in assisted living are given a unique service plan. The service plan detailed the needs of the resident. The plan is also upgraded regularly as to meet the needs of the resident.

There is a big difference between nursing home and senior independent living. As we all know, in nursing homes, the residents are mostly frail and needs to be taken care of. They have greater needs and they cannot take care of themselves. Unlike in assisted living, the residents here are those who can manage simple activities such as walking on their own.

Maybe if hubby and I are older, we might consider living in in this kind of community as I learned that on average, there are 20 to 23 residents in each community. That would be a good number to socialize with, don’t you think?

Are you intimidated by their scores? LOL! Don’t be. It’s still far away from contest end. And let me explain why such high scores. We gave an extra FOUR HUNDRED (400) POINTS for those who completed the reviews of the four major sponsors, ASIDE from giving extra benefits to those who finished completing the requirements early. Why the whopping extra points? Because:

Starting today, we are changing one of the contest requirements. The review of the four major sponsors will NOT be a requirement anymore, so that’s yay for everyone who’s reason for not joining is that they cannot make a blog review or do not have the time to earn that top spot for the $200. BUT, we will STILL REQUIRE that you post a separate entry with the links of the four major sponsors (codes are already provided. OMG, this is sooo getting lazy-friendly. LOL). We came to this decision because more than we’d like to motivate you to practice your blog reviewing skills for future writing opportunities, we want to keep our promise to our beloved sponsors to give them at least 150 backlinks each for the duration of the contest. So there.

As a recognition to those who were forced (hee hee) to make a review of the major sponsors in the original rules, we are giving them an extra 400 points for their effort. Not bad eh? Scratch my Real Leaf I won article. Levy (livinglifetodfullest.blogspot.com) told me I was one of the winner and excitedly checked it and blogged about it. And then an hour or two later, Levy again told me my name was scratched off the list and so I checked (thanks sis). And yeah, it was not there anymore. That was really sad but the admin said that I can still claim the prize since I was already mentioned but I don’t think that’s appropriate so I have to pass on this one. Kinda stressful huh?
