Cleaning Tips For Your Dirty Kitchen

Lots of moms would agree that the kitchen is one of the busiest parts of the house. And while cooking and preparing food alone is already a daunting task, cleaning the kitchen would be a lot more challenging. Not to mention also your kitchen fixtures, furniture, and kitchen walls that need cleaning as well. To help you with some useful cleaning tips, below, I have listed some fantastic ways to clean your dirty kitchen quickly.

Clean your kitchen from top to bottom

It is still best to follow the old rule when it comes to cleaning your kitchen by cleaning it from top to bottom and front to back. This approach has already proven to save you time and avoid doubling up your cleaning. For example, cleaning the counter without cleaning the top of the stove would only cause you to clean the counter again since debris will most likely fall. I recommend cleaning your ceiling and corners of walls first with a dust mop. Don’t forget to clean the wall against grease, grime, and spilled food.

Use hot water to clean your dishes easily

Having a sink full of dishes can be tiring to look at, but the real challenge is when you try to scrub the food out from them. Scrubbing the food and grease off the dishes is both challenging and time-consuming. To make it easier, fill your sink with hot water together with a squirt of liquid dishwashing soap. Let your dishes soak for at least 15 minutes, so the food and grease would lose its grip. Using this cleaning tip, you can easily wash your dishes with ease.

Use baking soda and vinegar to make your sink shine again

Having a shiny kitchen sink is an excellent motivator for most moms since it makes your kitchen look very clean. To easily remove stains from the sink, apply baking soda on the sink’s surface using a damp sponge. It can effectively remove stains without the need for scratching the sink’s surface. Thoroughly wash the sink with water to remove the baking soda then spray vinegar all over the sink to dissolve calcium deposits. Rinse the sink again with water, and you’ll be surprised to see that your sink will shine again like new.

Use baking soda and vinegar to clean your kitchen tiles

A lot of cleaning experts say that you can clean your entire house as long as you have your baking soda on your side. And that also includes not just your bathroom tiles but your kitchen tiles as well. The grout between the tiles will become discolored and look dirty as time passes by, and it will start to become sore to the eyes. To clean it easily, combine your baking soda with a little bit of water to create a paste and apply it all over the tiles and the grout. Let the paste sit in for at least 10 minutes before spraying the vinegar. Scrub the tiles and grout using a toothbrush to remove all the stains to make it look clean and fresh.

Here’s Simple, Easy-to-Follow House Cleaning Schedule (+ Guide!) for Busy Moms

I thought I knew my mother. I thought she really liked drinking cold coffee, you know, making hot coffee then waiting for it to be cold before she drinks it. That’s how I’ve always seen her do it. Now that I am a mother too, I finally understand why. A mom’s daily life is so busy, she always ends up drinking her coffee cold in the afternoon, when all household chores are done.

know most of you can relate to the very busy daily schedule of a mom. We cook, prepare the family for the daily routine (kids going to school husband to work), clean up, more household chores and usually a short pause to take a bath while also cleaning the bathroom.
We just can’t do one thing at once right? Like when we take a bath, we have to maximize our time and resources (sayang ang tubig!). And even if we get advice such as stop multi-tasking, it really is what makes us who we are.
Being a mom is not easy and I know you are doing an awesome job but you know you can actually make your life easier. Even if we choose to do more than one thing at a time, we can really make our life easier by choosing the right products to use in our homes and by creating an effective cleaning schedule.

Here’s an Effective Cleaning Schedule For Moms

An effective cleaning schedule will help you in maintaining your house clean with less effort. With an effective cleaning schedule, you are assured that every aspect of your house is given the right attention with less fuss. Cleaning schedules are divided into categories depending on how frequent you need to clean. We have a daily cleaning schedule, a weekly cleaning schedule, monthly, and yearly.

How do you start planning your cleaning schedule? The first thing you need to do is list all areas in your house that need cleaning. Divide that list into 4 and that will constitute your weekly schedule. Let me share you my weekly cleaning schedule:

What should be on your daily cleaning schedule? Cleaning chores that won’t take an hour long should be on your daily schedule. Examples are sweeping the floor, quick dusting, putting out toys, making the bed and simple tasks that won’t take too much of your time.

How about the bathroom — especially the toilet bowl? We all know it’s one of the more difficult (not to mention dirtiest) tasks around the house. Quick bathroom cleaning can be done while taking a bath. Deep bathroom cleaning can be done weekly. The tricky part is achieving a clean and fresh-smelling bathroom all the time. But there’s a solution to that — try using Mr Muscle® Fresh Discs to keep your toilet bowl clean and the bathroom smelling fresh.

How to use Mr Muscle Fresh Discs

Make sure you clean the toilet bowl first before using the Fresh Discs (I also used Mr Muscle® toilet bowl cleaner).

Step 1. Slide the two pieces of Mr Muscle® Fresh Discs together so the button on the tube clicks into the
handle.

Step 2. Remove cap and position end of gel tube near the rim on inside of bowl.

Step 3. Press and hold button down while pushing unit against bowl’s surface. When button clicks into the next
hole, pull unit back to leave a gel stamp. Ensure the disc is placed near the rim where water would flow
on to it when flushed.

FLUSH! Each disc lasts up to 7 days! That is why you can enjoy a week of a clean and fresh-smelling bathroom.

Monthly Cleaning Schedule
Scheduled cleaning that is done every month includes household chores or cleaning that needs a lot of time or attention. As I have mentioned with our weekly schedule, use only 4 days a week so you can devote 1 or 2 days a week for your monthly cleaning schedule. Since this kind of cleaning needs time and effort, the most effective way of doing this is to divide it into 4.

Here’s a sample:

  1. Kitchen and dinning
  2. Bedrooms and bathroom
  3. Living Room and hallways
  4. Outside

Each one on the list gets a day from your weekly cleaning schedule. What are the examples of cleaning chores that are usually done on a monthly basis? Deep clean appliances such as the refrigerator, gas range, washing machine, oven, and electric fan. Changing of curtains, deep cleaning of carpets, and deep cleaning of walls.

Other household cleaning schedule that you also need to consider are those that is done every 4 months such as air conditioner cleaning, pest control, and deep cleaning of windows. Cleaning of roof and rain gutter are done every year. Cleaning/draining of the septic tank should be done every 3 years or 5 years.

4 Ways to Keep Your Home Clean of Dirt and Allergens

A home is supposed to be one a haven for its occupants. It should present not just a relaxing, but a safe place for everyone who lives there.

It would be a shame if your home is the culprit of you getting sick because of all the allergens in the air. Indoor pollution is a serious thing. In fact, there are reports that indicate that pollution hazards inside the home can be equally and even more dangerous than the air pollution found outside.

Dirt and pollutants can be the cause of many sickness, including respiratory complications. To make sure that your family is safe, here are things you can do so that your home will be free from dirt and allergens.

1. Vacuum or dust your house frequently – cleaning the house regularly is the number one way to get rid of dust and allergens. Go green when purchasing your cleaners and pick the ones that do not have harsh chemicals. Choose fragrance-free products, or even better use simple household products to clean. If you do your research, you’ll find that you can use vinegar, lemon, and even baking soda to clean your house without triggering any allergies.

3. Wash and replace beddings regularly – by regularly, this means weekly. Beds are one of the areas that collect a lot of dust. Beds are also where dust mites thrive, so you need to wash them in hot water and dry them in a hot dryer to ensure that all dust mites will be killed. It would also be best to just use the dryer and not air dry them outside because they can catch pollen and mold there. For beddings that should be dry cleaned, you don’t need to actually dry clean them weekly. You can just bring them outside e and shake off the dust and skin flakes that shed there. But if you really want them dust and allergen free, the best thing to do is to wash them weekly.

4. Have your air duct cleaned regularly – your HVAC unit is another place where dust and allergen can accumulate, so you need to make sure that it is always clean. While you can do simple cleaning from time to time, the best decision is to still get the services of a professional. They have the right equipment and can do the work efficiently.
