DIY Clothes Folding Board

We just made a DIY clothes folding board and I am going to show you how. Folding clothes is my least favorite household chores and I know you don’t like it too. For me, it will take 2 to 5 movies before I can finish folding our clothes. It really takes a lot of time. And now that I have a new born, I don’t the luxury of watching 2 to 5 movies straight. Good thing my nephew mentioned that we can do diy clothes folding board and that folding clothes would be easier with this.. sige na nga, subukan natin.

Here’ what you need for DIY clothes folding board:

  1. 3 pieces 1/8 illustration board
  2. scissors
  3. duct tape

DIY Clothes Folding Board

DIY Clothes Folding Board

Step 1. Cut each illustration board into 2, giving you 6 pieces of 7.5 by 10 inches board.

Step 2. Put two boards together (shorter side) with at least 1 cm apart then tape it. Do this to the remaining boards, giving you 3 taped boards.

Step 3. Spread all the boards then tape the upper part together. Make sure there’s a space between each board.

And now you can start folding clothes!

Here’s a video of my first born using our DIY Clothes Folding Board:

You can also buy this in some online stores but where’s the fun in that?!? DIY is much more fun di ba? So go ahead and make your own clothes folding board and tell me in the comment section how it lessens your folding time.

#KumareBloggers At B&P All Day Breakfast

Two perfect combo to prevent post partum depression: friends and  food!

Sooo friends had been visiting me since I gave birth. And one weekend, I got to spend an afternoon with my Kumareng bloggers with mouthwatering food on the table. PPD, you’re out!

#KumareBloggers Day Out Venue: B&P All Day Breakfast Ortigas

B&P All Day Breakfast

B&P All Day Breakfast

It’s the perfect venue! B&P All Day Breakfast interior is very homey (thank you Kumareng Levy for the photo)! Kita nyo naman di ba, ang sandalan parang headboard lang, para ka lang nag be breakfast in bed! And look at the wall, sunny side up eggs! It’s the most apt wall design for an all day breakfast resto.

We had the usual chikas (our chika photo from Badudets) while having delectable dishes.

I think we all agreed that French toast is not just for mornings, it really is an all day breakfast food! And that it really goes well with this:

Beer- battered buttermilk chicken. It’s one of B&P Hefty Plates combo along with Baby Back Ribs served with french fries, Pork Crackling served with rice and Pork Chop with Chimichurri served with red rice pilaf.

Hefty plates means good for sharing. Pero parang ayaw ko i share ang Beer- battered buttermilk chicken served with french toast and homemade gravy(P450) na ito. The sweetness of french toast goes well with the tastiness of the chicken and the homemade grave. I’ll definitely bring my kids here and order this dish.

If I didn’t finished half of the Beer- battered buttermilk chicken, I could have finished this. Primera Tapa! Tapa is one of my faves. It comes with adobo rice, choice of egg and pickled relish.

The Primera Tapa (P295) is one of the four choices of B&P’s Chef’s Bowl. If you love bacon for breakfast, try Don Malutong, it’s crispy pork belly that also comes with adobo rice, choice of egg and pickled relish. And there’s Bistek Bangus Belly and Crab & Tuna top for seafood lovers.

And with non stop chikahan, it was really hard to take all photos of all the food we eat! For soup, we had the Red Molo Soup (P175) which was really tasty. The serving is really big and can make 4 people happy. Tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich was also served but I never got the chance to try it, natuwa ako sa Red Molo soup eh.

From the All Day Breakfast menu, we were served with Creole Eggs with All-Beef Patty (P280) and Mang Benedict’s (P285). Notice the “Mang” on Mang Benedict’s? You guessed it right! It’s a pinoy eggs Benedict. So there’s the paoched egg, hollandaise sauce and for the pinoy twist, the pandesal and chicken longanisa. Natutuwa ako sa kanya. I never thought I could enjoy pandesal and longanisa this much!

For desserts, we had the newest from B&P, it’s so new that it is not yet included on the menu:

B&P All Day Breakfast

Banoffee Pie. We also had Nutty Nirvana and Salted caramel.

B&P All Day Breakfast

We got to try their coffee shots too. And while trying out the shots and the cakes, we watched how their syphon coffee were made.

B&P All Day Breakfast

That’s my nguso ooooh moment. That was my first time to see how syphon coffee was made. That coffee apparatus reminds me of my Chem 16 years! (photo from The Peach Kitchen)

My stomach was filled with delectable dishes and sweet treats.. my heart swells for heartwarming and wacky stories we shared. A day out with  kumares at B&P All Day Breakfast is exactly the break I need. And we got to take home S’mores pa!

Thank you B&P for having the #KumareBloggers!

The B&P All Day Breakfast where we had our marehan is located at Cyberspace Alphaland Bldg. Ortigas

Health Watch: World Health Day

Did you know that today is World Health Day?

World Health Day is celebrated globally every year on April 7 to bring awareness to public health issues. In celebration of World Health day this year, Safeguard launches Heath Watch. It a series of lecture aimed to equip Filipino moms with the information and the skills that they need to continue to keep their family healthy.for

In the first Safeguard Health Watch lecture yesterday among mommy bloggers, UNICEF shared figures about the state of Filipino Children’s Health.

Health Watch: World Health Day

Here are some of the figures and health concerns discussed during the first ever Safeguard Health Watch:

Global Health Report

Globally, nearly half of child deaths are attributed to malnutrition*. It is also same here in the Philippines. In 2015, UNICEF studies show that 45% of child deaths are attributable to malnutrition, i.e, 95 deaths per day.

The second largest cause of death globally is Diarrhea where as 1,600 children dies every day.

Top Threats Diseases Among Filipino Children

In the 2015 countdown report*, the top 3 child mortality causes are:

  1. Neonatal conditions- 45%
  2. Pneumonia- 18%
  3. Injuries- 8%
  4. Diarrhea- 7%

In the same report, the 42 countries where 90% of child deaths occur, the leading causes of death are:

  1. Neonatal conditions- 33%
  2. Diarrhea- 33%
  3. Pneumonia- 21%

Mom’s watch

As a mom, are you aware of the simplest and most cost- effective solutions for some of the most critical diseases?

In Newborn Deaths, the most effective preventive measure is breastfeeding? Reports show a decrease on newborn deaths since the government implemented the Unang Yakap campaign. It is a newborn care practices that consist of 4 core steps:

  1. Immediate and thorough drying of the newborn
  2. Early skin to skin contact
  3. Properly time cord clamping
  4. Early initiation of Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding remains a key to prevent deaths from Pneumonia and Diarrhea. Safe water, sanitation and proper hygiene is also critical in preventing both illnesses.

Water, Sanitation and Health Program

Health Watch: World Health Day

Procter & Gamble, through Safeguard, partners with UNICEF to address this problem by implementing its Water, Sanitation and Health (WASH) Program, which includes health and hygiene education among children.

Safeguard also recognizes the importance of health in the context of everyday activities at home. In celebration of World Health Day, Safeguard highlights the role of proper hygiene in keeping families healthy.

Mommies present during the event were taught about First Aid basics, including proper wound care, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

What Moms Should Know About Proper Wound Care

  1. Washing of wound for 5 minutes with soap has been beneficial in reducing infections among children
  2. First aiders should also wash their hands with soap before giving treatment.

It is really important, specially for mommies like us to learn about proper care and  health studies and reports like this one. It gives us the edge in protecting our family and keeping them healthy. And when it comes to family germ protection, Safeguard is my partner.
