Another Meet Up On The Way

After the successful and hilarious she blogger last July 18, another meet up is on the stove.. yes guys I am cooking up another she blogger date. Our fellow Pinay blogger Jade of Mommawannabe (and many other cool blogs) is coming home this August. If you are not aware, Jade is now living in Singapore with his Dutch husband. Please mark your calendar on August 13, lunch time again. The meeting place will be on Megamall… who would not want to meet this lovely lady (and soon to be mommy)?

You Are Inspirational- Mixed Inspirations

This week for Inspirational Meme, the theme is about Mixed Blog. Every Monday this meme gives us the opportunity to feature a blog.

The mixed blog that I like and will be on my list forever (naks!) is Barrio Siete. This is actually a community blog, so mixed is an understatement. I found this blog through payperpost, yep, not because the owner advertised there and asked bloggers to write about their awesome tambayan. I was bored then due to lack of opportunity and was browsing the featured bloggers. A name I saw was very intriguing, Reyna Elena. A name very familiar to every Pinoy, and yet the profile photo was a he. I checked out his blog and enjoyed very charos and chuva of his blog. baklang bakla ika nga.. I have been following him since then, enjoying every gay article he wrote.

Then he introduced to us Barrio Siete.. the same gayness of Inay Reyna was there, not to mention the cool writings of other bloggers like bluepanjeet, who is a self proclaimed half blood Harry Potter addict.Then there’s kotsengkuba who admitted he was a half retired Harry Potter fan.

Some of the bloggers (Yami and Snow)I already knew was there too. I am actually contemplating on joining this sietehan, gusto ko magsulat ng tagalog! And since I cannot maintain another blog, I guess Barrio Siete will be my syana home. Only, I am intimidated by the credentials of the writers, ang lulupit!waaah bigyan nyo ako ng lakas ng loob!

The Stories Behind

As I have said before, July 18 was set for Liz and Niko‘s meet up and I tag along, Fedhz want to tag along and so on.. and the she blogger meet up was born..

It has been raining hard for the past few days, but this event is a rain or shine kind.. good thing the rain stopped a bit.

Our meeting place was in Trinoma, I really have to thank Miss Beng for guiding us around Trinoma and introducing us to Manong Paulo and Manong Eric.. (Beng was a regular there thus the first name basis with the guards LOL) Ronald(thank you McDo for accompanying Liz) and Liz has been waiting for us when we arrived. I fetch Paula/Joana since we’re neighbors.. head on for Cubao, was supposed to fetch Niko and Ghie there.. Fedhz arrived and then Miss Beng, after a lifetime, the two arrived (Niko and Ghie). It was also Beng who suggested we eat at Kamay Kainan. An eat all you can restaurant that’s famous for its cheap prices and not so good service (but hey they were really nice to us) . The food was great compare to its price, the place was worth it and we stayed there for three hours.

There was never a dull moment. We talk about our blogs of course, page ranks, rankings etc. It was very nice to meet people who knows these words, who knows a lot about the things you are addicted to. There was an instant connection, and then we moved on talking about our life, our kids and so on. We had so much fun and so many laughs.

It was not a big event, we have no sponsors and the likes but there were freebies!! Fedhz told me about bringing up something that would remind your fellow blogger about your blog. She says a card will do with your name and url address will do. And since I am not a “will do” type of person, I thought of having a pen with my blog and blog address on it as a giveaway (I prepared 20 waaah). Upon checking my Anik box, I saw that I still have with me 3 ecobags, so I brought it along and raffled it to them. The three lucky winners were Fehdz, Ghie and Liz..

Fedhz prepared a polvoron for us while Beng had a card in handy.. Fedhz polvoron was a treat, I finished one pack on the way home.. and imagine I had no water at hand!!

The next meet up will be on.. uh wait no date yet LOL.. but guys, just so you know, Jade will be arriving soon and we planned to have a bite or coffee as soon as her plane landed.. oo ganyan kame ka atat.. so join us if you can 🙂
