Grandma El’s Baby Products Line

I got these products a few months ago.. pero sabi ko.. how can I post this eh wala naman akong baby. You know, it’s hard to write about a product that you don’t actually use or you won’t even use… Pero ayun nga, mga few days yata after receiving this, may good news na.. Baby #5 is coming!

So I consider these products as my baby’s first gift!

Grandma El’s is a special baby care formula from New York. Here’s how Grandma El’s started in the US:

It all began in 1972 when a renowned skin care specialist and cosmetic chemist, Robert Posner, created a special formula that was used to heal patients with bedsores and other wounds in over 150 hospitals and nursing homes in New York. Decades later, his son Jonathan Posner saw the need for a truly safe and effective diaper rash product, so he took the special formula and started Grandma El’s. In just ten years, the brand has grown to offer a specialized line of baby products such as the Diaper Rash Ointment, Gentle Baby Lotion, Gentle Baby Shampoo, and Gentle Baby Wash, which are available in top retail establishments all over the world.

Grandma El’s products are safe and effective and their formulation does not contain parabens or presevatives. They only use natural oils to give that natural, mild and fresh fragrance.

I’ll definitely try Grandma El’s products for Baby #5.

Grandma El’s offers not just prevention and remedy, but a whole line of products you can trust as you raise your little ones, a brand that offers nothing but the best, a partner whose care will always be there.

Grandma El’s Products are available at Robinson’s Supermarkets, Landmark, Market! Market!, Metro Gaisano, and Babyland. Online, they are available at Lazada, Cudsly and Babies to Toddlers. Standard Retail Price for each product is Php 465.00.

Solid Wood Furniture in Sta Rosa- Tagaytay Road

Buying made to order solid wood furniture is overwhelming pala. Nakakatuwa na in a way nakakakaba. Para kang nakipag syota pero ramdam mo na pang kasalan na yun.. pang forever na. Yan ung na feel ko when we bought some solid wod furniture along Sta Rosa- Tagaytay Road.

Ang solid wood furniture kase pang matagalan na. Hindi na ito ung mga Sanyang brands na hindi man lang tumatagal ng 5 years. Hind ito yung mga mumurahing furniture sa malls na within a year may bakbak na. This is SOLID WOOD.. maybe not as hard as narra or molave but these are real wood and not compressed ones.

Mas lamang syempre ang excitement. This is it na talaga! Magkakabahay na kame for real!

Before our buying “spree” picnic muna sa Picnic Grove becuase Sati likes it that way, pero sa totoo lang, tipid mode lang sa almusal kaya pumayag ako (although my intestines are asking for Antonio’s! haha)

OK pala sa Picnic Grove no… last time kase we were there, parang ang gulo gulo..puro lamesa lang ang nakita ko noon at sobrang hangin. Ang gusto namin ni Sati ung picnic talaga, maglalatag ka ng banig at may dalang basket, ganyang peg. In fair, there is really a place for pegs like that. The grass area is located near the souvenir shops. Medyo challening bumababa sa picnic area and maineet so better be there before 8 AM!

We enjoyed our picnic naman and the kids had fun rolling down the slopes and blowing bubbles (tipid tip: magbaon kayo ng sariling bubbles nyo, OK naman bumili sa mga tindero pero sayang pera.. yung mga tinda nila mura nga pero madali din masira).

Picnic Grove Tagaytay entrance fee is 50 Pesos and Parking is 30 Pesos.. for cottages, rent ranges from 150 to 300 PhP. By the way, the comfort room is OK ha.. not sparkling clean but usable.

Quick stop at Antonio’s (ensaymada!!!) after our picnic then off to the wood furniture stores along Sta Rosa- Tagaytay Road. A few weeks ago nag canvass na kame dito and found only one store that offers upholstered headboard, so dun na muna kame dumiretso sa kanila. Pero sa totoo lang, gusto ko pa rin talaga mag ikot ikot muna at magtanong tanong before deciding kaso Celyn of ABJ Wood Carvings and Antiques is very accommodating. And not only that, she really knows a lot about wood furniture. Hindi na kame nag aksaya ng panahon at sa kanila na kame umorder.

Off limits sa camera ang loob ng shop (photo from outside lang yan, marami pa sa loob) nila so I can’t really show you their works but it’s really good. Maganda ang finish nila and designs. Since she really knows about their business hindi ako nahirapan i discuss sa kanya yung mga gusto ko at limitations ko.

Types of Wood Used In Furniture

Gusto talaga namin Mahoganoy since matibay ang klase ng wood na ito di ba. But Celyn said Gmelina is better than Mahogany in terms of treatment. Ang Mahagonay daw nag bubukbok kahit i treat unlike Gmelina. Other woods used in making solid wood furniture aside from Mahaogany and Gmelina  are Acacia, Tangili, Ipil, Narra and Molave. BJ Wood Carvings and Antiques only offers furniture made from Gmelina, Mahogany and Acacia.

Price of Solid Wood Furniture Along Sta Rosa- Tagaytay Road

Here’s the breakdown of the furniture (using Gmelina) we ordered and their respective prices:

  • Queen size bed with upholstered headboard: 18000 PhP including 2 inch thick upholstery on headboard, leatherette using Uratex foam with diamond design
  • L shape Sofa, 84 inches by 72 inches: 18000 PhP, Japanese inspired design
  • Day Bed with pull out (30 x 72 and 30 x 60): 15000 PhP

ABJ Wood Carvings and Antiques Payment Terms & Delivery

Delivery is usually one week per furniture pero nakiusap kame na sana mas mapaaga pa nila.. susubukan daw since may mga nauna pa na orders sa amin. Down-payment is only 10% of the total amount and the remaining balance can be paid upon delivery of the products.

Delivery fee is around 2000- 3000 but since we bought 3 furniture, they waive the delivery fee.

I will post photos of the finished products as soon as it arrives on our new doorsteps. Hopefully by 2nd week of October.

What To Do And What Not To Do While Pregnant

Pregnancy is definitely that time in woman’s life then there are a lot of questions. And there might be not so many answers! Trust me, you won’t be able to find everything on books or by asking your fellow friends or family members! So that is why bellow you will find some basic do’s and don’ts of pregnancy. Some of it are pretty known, some of it are not so, but everything is very important and shouldn’t be forgotten. But just relax and enjoy the most beautiful time of your life and you will be a great mother!

not my recent pregnant photo.. this was taken when I was pregnant with Sati

First, let’s start from the most common don’ts! And the first one that comes to my mind that can be pretty soon forgotten is to don’t shop for maternity clothing too soon or too late! I mean, if your belly is pretty small and you can fit into your non-maternity clothing – then don’t shop for it at all! Shop only then you can’t really fit into your clothing or you see that you won’t fit in there soon.
Also – don’t wait too long. If you walk around in your ordinary clothing for too long, you will be and look uncomfortable. And don’t plan purchasing clothing into the future – you might grow out of it pretty soon and all those investments are not going to pay off.

Another don’t is not to sacrifice fashion! I mean, don’t you forget that you can be utterly stylish and fashion-forward for those nine months! Forget about your husband’s old clothing and embrace yourself in real and amazing maternity clothing. Especially if they are worldly known and really high-quality. For instance – Nordstrom is one of these stores. And right now you can shop for all excellent quality maternity clothing much cheaper since Nordstrom coupons from ChameleonJohn.com exists! So in fact you can even save some money and be stylish while pregnant! That is what all fashionistas wish for!

Now if you want some real forgotten do’s here they are! First – do make a great health care plan for pregnancy. That should consist of many vitamins and minerals you need to take during this period. Of course, your doctor is going to recommend doing it for you, but it is recommended and not mandatory. So – absolutely do it!

Also, do talk about pre-existing conditions and family history too.  I mean, talk with your doctor about stuff like diabetes, herpes (and other STDs), heart problems, epilepsy and high blood pressure. That might change your diet and vitamins routines. And you should not forget to mention all that if your doctor doesn’t ask you first.

Finally, since there are, and still going to be, a lot of pregnancy high and lows, you should always try to stay positive! It will actually help you deal with all the pain and make your whole pregnancy much better too! It is all psychological, and it always works! So just surround yourself in a positive environment. It can help you relax and enjoy your pregnancy better and it can also flood your baby with pleasant emotions. That makes him or her happy too!
