5 Different Christmas Ham Philippines You Can Buy This Holiday

Ham and Queso de bola. When I was a kid, I really don’t know why our Noche Buena and Media Noche is never complete without these two. Basta I know it’s a family tradition that I should keep. History suggests that the presence of ham or jamon in a gathering symbolizes feast. So tara, let’s make your Noche Buena a more festive one with the different ham offerings from Virginia:

5 Different Christmas Ham Philippines You Can Buy This Holiday

Pear-Shaped Chicken Ham

Let’s start our list with Pear shaped hams. If you love anything chicken, and prefers it more than anything else, Virginia Pear- Shaped Chicken Ham is a must this Holiday.

It’s less salty and more on sweet aroma and uniquely juicy flavor. It goes well with or without the pineapple glaze (but I always like my ham with glaze hehe). Virginia Pear- Shaped Chicken Ham is available in ready-to-serve 800g size.

Pear-Shaped Ham

This is the pork version of pear shaped ham. It is mildly season so you taste more than just meat. If you love flavorful ham, ito ang bagay sa’yo.

Virginia Pear-Shaped Ham is available in 3 different sizes. May 500 grams, 800 grams, and 1 kg. This is what we like most about Virginia hams, you can have it in different sizes. Kung kaunti lang kayo sa bahay, the 500 grams is perfect.

Virginia Brick Ham

Because it looks like a brick! That is my guess too eh. This ham is coated in a specially made pineapple glaze giving it that sweet-sour pineapple flavor. This is available in ready-to-serve 500g size.

Season’s Delight Ham

We all have that favorite ham right? And out of all the 5 hams in this list, this is my personal favorite. Aside from it is round (which for me is what a ham should be), I really love its tender juicy, meaty and salty profile.

Kung mapapansin nyo, I really love using cloves on my ham. It adds aroma and flavor.

Virginia Season’s Delight Ham is a round shaped ham made from coarsely ground pork, blended with specially selected ingredients to bring out that tender-juicy mouthfeel and create a well-rounded sweet-salty meaty profile with a hint of sweet-sour pineapple taste. Available in read-to-serve 1kg size.

Jamon de Bola

Here is another round shaped ham with ground meats and spices. Jamon de Bola is coated with glaze and medyo sweet ang flavor. It also has this smoky- meaty flavor.

Jamon de Bola is available in ready-to-serve size of 1 KG.

Ready-To-Serve Hams

What does it mean when it says ready to serve? Meaning it is cooked and is ready to serve straight out of packaging. But I suggest reheating it para mas lumabas ang flavor. And also reheating it with glaze gives it more character. Always let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing so that the juice of the ham won’t come out.

HACK: You can re use your oven toaster to heat your ham. If ham is too big, cut it in half (upper part vs lower part). When you arrange in on your serving plate, no one will notice! I do that almost every year.

Where to buy Virginia Hams?

Virginia hams are available in their Factory outlets nationwide. Check which outlet is near you: VIRGINIA FOOD website

It is also available in leading supermarkets and groceries nationwide. Compare ham prices by logging at Virginia website: http://www.virginiafood.com.ph/Hams
