Honest Bee Philippines Review

Because it’s raining cats&dogs lately and going to the grocery is becoming more challenging, I decided to give Honest Bee Philippines a try. This is a short Honest Bee Philippines Review plus some tips on how to make this one work, even though your location is not yet included on their list.

Honest Bee Philippines Review

First step: Sign up at Honest Bee Philippines under my account (sayang referral fee mga beshies, pang Pampers na ni Marius yan, wag nyo na ipagkait sa akin.) Click the image above or click this link. Opo. ako si Pilipinas. Opo.

Of course I also signed up using someone’s link.

Step #2. Give your address.

Honest Bee Philippines Review

Ganyan din nakuha ko na message when I put my address. The trick is, use a different one.

May time and date naman ng delivery so maabangan mo yan. Maki kape ka na din kila mars.

And that’s the best thing I can say about Honest Bee. Walang delay!

Step 3. Start Ordering

I got excited. Parang gusto ko i cart lahat doon. Pero wais misis ito. I have a list of our monthly grocery items.

Of course, hindi ko naman lahat yung bibilhin in one go. The goal is to but at least 2000 pesos worth of grocery to avail the 500 off and also free delivery.

Step 4. Use your coupon on check out.

If you’re not very conscious, hindi mo mapapansin ito. Now that I blog about it, alam mo na, click the USE A COUPON FROM YOUR WALLET part.

Honest Bee Philippines Review

Use/ APPLY the coupon to get your discount.

ALWAYS CHOOSE COD when paying.

Step 5. Choose the date and time of delivery and wait.

Delivery is very prompt. Expect a call during that time. Sometimes the shopper would call kase out of stock ang product.

Also, if you did not put the exact address, expect the call from the rider. Sunduin nyo na lang where you pinned your address. That’s what I did.

Honest Bee Philippines Review

My shopper called me when two of the products I ordered were out of stock. The out of stock items were deducted from my total bill.

This was the 2nd time I ordered from Honest Bee and definitely not the last one. I enjoyed how hassle free it was. The first time I ordered, the slot I got for delivery is 5 days from the day I ordered. Ok lang naman since the products I ordered are for stocks only and not for immediate use.

Would I recommend Honest Bee Philippines? DEFINITELY! (plus 500 OFF because you signed up on my link haha)

5 Basic Grocery Shopping Tipid Tips

Specially when there’s a sale or may mga buy one take one promo. Or kung may mga promos like the recent HonestBee promo (500 off on your grocery). Nakaka tempt to go over your budget, to buy thing you thought are necessary but are actually not.

With my 5 Basic Grocery Shopping Tipid Tips, you’ll never go over budget on your grocery again, ever! I dare you to try.

5 Basic Grocery Shopping Tipid Tips

Tipid Tip #1: MAKE A GROCERY LIST. This is probably one of the most important tipid tip that I will share with you. Making a grocery list limits you from buying what you do not need. It also guides you to not forget the essentials in your house. Make a list and of course bring it when you do your grocery.

I wish there’s a grocery app which lets you make a grocery list, tracks your usage, lets you know when its time to buy and also have a price comparison. Sobrang bongga yan for us home makers no?

Tipid Tip #2: NEVER DO YOUR GROCERY HUNGRY. It’s tempting to just grab your bag, decides on eating at the supermarket and starts shopping. If you can’t eat at home, grab something before you start doing your grocery. There is a tendency to grab almost everything your stomach fancies when you do your grocery in an empty stomach.

That grumbling noise always win. That chips look delish! Oh I am thirsty! I could finish a case of coke! Fruits? Chocolates? I want them all!!!!

kebata bata eh nagpapabili ng Lipton! This is what happens when you bring kids to the grocery.

Tipid Tip #3: DO NOT BRING THE KIDS. It’s very tempting to bring them and see it as treat to them but do not give in to that temptation. It’s very tiring, you’re checking the list, making sure all your needs is in your cart and your trying not to lose your patient because, well, kids!

You can bring them, leave them at the arcade but then that’s another money you need to spend. And kids are always hungry, brining them adds up to your “eating budget”

Also, mga inay, this is our chance to unwind! Sulitin mo na ang bakasyong ito!

Tipid Tip #4: DO NOT GO OVER THE AISLE MORE THAN ONCE. Sabi ko it’s our chance to unwind, sulitin na natin but not to the extent na paikot ikot ka sa buong  grocery. More ikot sa asile, more chances of getting what is not on your list. Hinay hinay sa pagtutulak ng cart.

This tip also lets you spend the most minimum time inside the store. Based on study, the more time you spend inside the store, the more chances of winning, este losing on this tipidan game.

Tipid Tip #5: PLAN YOUR GROCERY TRIP. Still on the premise of spending less time inside the store, plan your trip so that you’ll be able to avoid the “rush hour”. More pila, mas maraming pagod, mas maramig gutom. Also, the more time you spend near the cashier, where premium products are placed, the more you are tempted to get at least one or two Cadbury (or Energizer, or that pair of toothbrush).

If you’re doing your grocery every payday, do it early in the morning and never do it on Friday evenings, hunger games ang peg ng mga tao pag weekend payday eh.

Gusto ko sana idagdag sa tip ko ang “look for the grocery with the cheapest SRP” kaso, I have my own favorite grocery stores and I don’t know if they have the cheapest SRP. Gagawin ko yan soon, grocery hopping and price comparing!

Ang #PambansangManok From Adobong Puti To 5 More Dishes

Remember my #KusinaTips #PambansangChicken post on my Facebook Page? We usually buy 3 to 5 kilos of Magnolia chicken per payday. We consume about 3/4 per day. And if it is hot wings, siguro mga dalawang kilo.

But the chicken from the photo above came from Magnolia and not from my grocery 🙂 Mag post daw ako ng chicken post.. which is a bit challenging considering na ang dali naman iluto ng chicken. And also, I want to give you something that’s never heard pa or yung tipong dito mo lang mababasa sa Mommy Pehpot blog.

I can’t give you just chicken recipes, so here’s what I am going to share with you, 5 other chicken dishes that you can cook using Chicken Adobong Puti. It’s called as such because it is cooked like adobo but without the soy sauce. This kind of adobo is best for kids suffering from g6pd deficiency. And this is how it is prepared:

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 kilos #pambansangchicken chopped*
  • 1 whole garlic (crushed)
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • freshly ground black peppers (about 2 tbsp)
  • 1 cup water
  • salt (about a teaspoon)
  • 3-4 dried laurel leaves

*I usually buy 2 kilos breast part and half kilo chicken legs bec chicken legs is soo good as adobo!

Cook the chicken together with the garlic, vinegar, salt, and black pepper. DO NOT STIR.

Let it simmer for about 15 minutes more, adding water if necessary.

Chicken Recipe #1: Adobo

Get the chicken legs from your pre cooked chicken.

  1. Heat oil the put garlic. #KusinaTips: Use dried minced garlic. It saves time in preparation, saves cooking time, you’ll never run out of garlic and sometimes it is even cheaper.
  2. Put chicken and 1/2 cup of toyo.
  3. Cover let it simmer until all toyo dries up.

Chicken Recipe #2: Chicken Curry

My kids love this dish. This is one their taob ang kaldero ng kanin ulam. It must the gata that makes this ulam really tasty.

Chicken Curry Recipe:

  1. Saute garlic, onion and patis.
  2. Add pre cooked chicken + curry powder (about a tablespoon for half a kilo chicken) then mix thoroughly.
  3. Add sliced bell pepper, fried potato and 1/2 cup water and let it simmer for about a minute
  4. Add 1/2 cup gata (DO NOT STIR) and cook in high heat until gata is boiling.
  5. Let it simmer in low heat for about 30 minutes then add green peas. Cook for another 5 or 10 minutes.

Chicken Recipe #3: Fried Chicken

You can do friend chicken straight from the supermarket, specially if you’re buying Magnolia Chicken because it is guaranteed fresh. For our 3 queens- Pia, Margie and Gloria – walang kapalit ang sarap at freshness ng Pambansang Manok.

But when I am feeling lazy or don’t have the luxury of time, I take out my pre cooked chicken, add some flour and in less than 10 minutes, our fried chicken is ready.

For flour breading, our measurement guide is 1 cup of flour + 1 tsp salt + 1 tsp ground black pepper. Optional to add 1 tsp garlic powder or cayenne powder for extra kick.

Deep fry the chicken for about 5 minutes and you’re done.

Chicken Recipe #4: Pininyahang Manok

  1. Mag gisa ng garlic, onion at kaunting patis.
  3. Pag kulo ng sabaw, add pineapple chunks then let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add green pees and sliced siling berde. Kaunting halo, lutin ng 3-5 minutes and done.

Chicken Recipe #5: Chicken Afritada

I have learned that the best way to get that tamand asim is to use kamatis and cook it well. And the secret to cooking kamatis well is using asin instead of patis.

Chicken Afritada Recipe:

  • Saute garlic, onion, tomato (4-5 pcs) then add salt.
  • Pag lutong luto na ang kamatis, add chicken and bell pepper.
  • I prito mo na ang carrots at patatas habang nag gigisa ka then add it dun sa chicken.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water, let it boil and simmer for about 5 minutes.

And that’s the secret to quick meal cooking.
