By this time, I am sure most of you know that aside from your inbox, Facebook Messages, also has an OTHER Inbox. Messages from people you don’t know or not friends with, go here.

Today, I learned that you can edit your Facebook Messages preference, just click OTHER folder and edit preference:

Also today, I learned (from Being Sammy) that Facebook Messages also has a SPAM folder aside from the OTHER folder

That’s how you can access the SPAM folder.

Kaines..lalo if there’s an important message tapos napunta sa Spam folder. I wonder what’s the algo behind it.

Sooo I got an email inviting me to a conference meeting in Texas. According to the email, the organization inviting me is the Global Society for Human Rights Organization. Sounds legit! The conference will be about, “Sustainable Social Welfare and Human Rights” and will commence on September 7th to 12th, 2015 @ Plano Conference Center, Texas City USA.

The best part of this invitation is, the sponsors will cover the cost of my round- trip air tickets and the organization will assist me on my visa arrangement. I only need to spend on my hotel accommodations. A quick Google search and I have learned that there are hotels near Plano Conference Center that are within my budget. COOLNESS!

Let’s attend this conference!

Oh no no no no! It almost got me.. but no way! Here’s the screenshot of the email and I will tell you why I had doubts on this one:

Sign #1 Dear Sir/ Madam? They are inviting me and they are willing to sponsor me when they don’t even know me.

Sign #2 REPLY TO? Why is the the reply to email is different from the sender’s email?

Sign #3 Google result of Global Society For Human Rights Organization International Conference In Texas spells FAKE and FRAUD

I replied on the email with this>>> WHAT?!?

Still no reply from them but I am not going to fall for this one. It maybe legit and maybe there really is a conference, but I don’t care. Sign #1 is enough for me. You know how much I hate it when people email without my name on it. Related Story: How To Email Mommy Bloggers

Some of my mommy blogger friends also got the same email and of course they knew right away not to entertain the said email. “I’m guessing your personal information will be stored or used somewhere since they said they’ll process your visa etc,” Mommy Roxi even said on her FB wall.

So many blogs.. so little time. I don’t have the time in the world to check my favorite blogs everyday.. so thank goodness for email subscription, I am notified every time my fave blogs published a post.

But not all blogs have email subscription widget/link displayed on their blog. I WANT TO BE NOTIFIED!! Can you not put a link where I can type in my email to subscribe to your blog?!?

You don’t know how to? QUICK TUTORIAL! This is really easy. Setting up a email subscription with Feedburner Tutorial:

Step 1. Log in to your gmail account and go to: http://feedburner.google.com/

Step 2. Burn a feed

After this step, you’ll be asked to choose your source, choose the one without the comments feed: 

Step 3. Name your Feed and Feed Address: 

Step 3. Tweak your Feedburner Stats: 

Step 4. Activate Email Subscription: Go to Publicize>> Email Subscription>> ACTIVATE

Step 5. Manage Your Subscription: Click Subscription Management under Email Subscription.

For BLOGGER BLOGS:

1. Lay out>> Add a gadget>> Follow by Email >> Put your Feedburner URL
2. Lay out>> Add a gadget>> HTML/ Javascript >> Paste the codes

FOR SELF HOSTED WORDPRESS BLOGS:

1. Add FeedBurner Form Plug In (and activate)
2. Appearance>> Widgets>> Drag FeedBurner Form Widget to your active sidebar

And you’re DONE!
