Korean Skin Care Routine Experience

First and foremost, I am not an expert in Korean Skin Care Routine. I only started the skin care routine a few years back (posted this one year ago: 10 Things You Need To Know About The 10 Steps Korean Skincare Routine). But I noticed a visible change on my skin.. it is softer, less pores and not to mention brighter! And it’s less oily now.. and when it comes to coverage, I only use Olay CC cream and I’m good to go.

My Korean Skin Care Routine Experience

Korean Products To Use

In terms of products to use, it doesn’t need to be 100% Korean brands. I use Safeguard Derma Sense Facial Cleanser as my facial wash. It really helped in controlling my break outs. It’s a bit drying but my moisturizer did a good job in compensating it.

Korean Skin Care Routine Products

As for my other skin care products, most of them are Laneige. I also use Cure and Dermal for exfoliation and rejuvenation.

On Exfoliation

I have learned that when you exfoliate, you need to rejuvenate. You need to use a mask (or a repair cream)after using peeling gel or facial scrub. The scrub/ peeling strips your skin of its moisture so you need to replace that by using mask or repair cream.

Dermal Facial Mask

When it comes to exfoliation, it usually comes after toner… usually but not most of the times. Here’s a guide:

Wash> peeling gel/ scrub> toner> emulsion> mask
Wash> peeling gel/ scrub> toner> repair cream (Laneige)> emulsion

Laneige Peeling Gel and Repair Pack

You don’t have to rinse facial mask that is why you can use it after applying emulsion. Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack on the hand needs rinsing so you need to use that BEFORE emulsion.

Start From Something

If the steps are overwhelming or the products are expensive, you don’t have to do or use it right away. You just need to start something. Start from the basic:

  • wash
  • toner
  • moisturize

Use a toner that is alcohol free. When I was just starting, I use Safeguard Acne Wash> Olay Toner> Olay Moisturizer. It’s a very cheap alternative and Olay is really effective.

From that, I shifted to a more complex routine. I used some products from Tony Moly (toner) and The Face Shop. Then I tried Laneige but since it’s more expensive than TFS products, I started with the their kit. The kit usually lasts a month and it’s only 2000 Pesos. After using 2 kits, I started buying the full size bottle by bottle. Each bottle usually last more than 2 months.

Laneige trial kit

When you’re done with the basic (wash> toner> moisturize), slowly add more routines. Exfoliate at least once a week and don’t forget your eyes. Eye cream are as much important as facial moisturizer. YES, you need an eye cream! The skin under your eyes is different from your face skin.

Other products worth investing

Korean Skin Care

  • Make Up Remover specially for your eyes.
  • Facial Mist (gives moisture when you’re out) and Clear C Advanced Effector (brightens the skin!)

Sleeping mask to keep your skin hydrated even when you’re  sleeping.

Laneige lip sleeping mask

Best lip moisturizer ever! This is always out of stock at my favorite Laneige kiosk.. because hello!?! it is that effective.

That’s one of the best thing I discovered with most Korean Skin Care Brands, they’re generous on samples! You may have noticed that my Laneige Multiberry Yogurt are in sample sizes.. those are samples! I have a bag full of Laneige product samples.

Lastly, the best cotton to use for your facial care is the circle one and this is it should be used:

The edges of the cotton can be rough and creates friction with the skin. I learned that the hard way!

How about you?!? What’s your skin care routine? Have you tried the Korean Skin Care Routine? You should! Or at least try the basic routine. Your face needs water as much as you do!

My Nanay’s Olay #BestBeautiful Story

Anong secret? Wala no, Olay lang yan..

She can’t live, leave home without moisturizers on her face and body.. nangangati daw sya eh.. Knowing she loves putting moisturizer on her face, I gave her the Olay set I got from Downy Timeless event.

Of course the difference in color is due to lightning.. ung first photo was taken sa apartment namin while the recent one is from my mansion. But look at her wrinkles! And the pekas!

She uses it once a day lang daw… sa umaga lang pag kaligo nya. And look at the dissappearing wrinkles after 3 monthsof use!

Eh sino nga mag aakala na senior citizen sya with disappearing wrinkles!

I buy Olay Regenerist from Watsons, sometimes from Lazada, pero minsan from Indonesia (ang mura dun e!)

How to use the Olay Regenerist?

  1. Apply Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre- Essence after cleansing and toning (use Safeguard Dermasense for cleansing and Olay Toner for toning). How much to apply, one full dropper is enough for the whole face.
  2. Apply Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti Aging Moisturizer.

Do it daily to see faster result.. si Mudra sa umaga lang nya ginagawa eh.. and she’s not used to toning.

Learn more about Olay Regenerist and other skin care tips from Olay Philippines Website.

*As provided in our Constitution, the state is duty-bound to recognize the rights of senior citizens by providing support though various social systems. Thus, senior citizens are granted benefits and privileges that range from 20% discount and VAT exemption to mandatory membership in the government’s healthcare system, Philhealth.

Eyeglasses In Quiapo: Cheap and Designer Eyeglasses Frames

My last post about Quiapo was more than a year ago na pala.. of course, balik at babalik kame doon specially for cheap eyeglasses in Quiapo.

Quiapo eyeglasses are really cheap. You can find designer eyeglasses in Quiapo at an affordable price. There are many optical shops along Paterno Street but my suki is located at the end of that street, corner Estero Cegado St.

UPDATED PRICES OF Eyeglasses In Quiapo VLOG 2019

If you’re travelling by car, easiest and most convenient is to park along Quezon Blvd. You can park on that side of Quezon Blvd (the side na kahanay ng simbahan ha). TIP: after coming from the tunnel, igilid nyo na sasakyan nyo and use the hazard light to signal the parking boys na naghahanap kayo ng  parking. Nearest to Paterno street is the 2nd Choking from the tunnel.. so mas maganda doon kayo mag park. In between the 2 Chowkings are Raon and Mamon Luk. Chowking 2 is corner Paterno street.. so kung makakapark kayo near that Chowking, just enter that street.. lakad lang kayo hanggang sa makita nyo ang building na ito:

If you missed that parking slots along Quiapo church (Mahirap talaga humanap ng parking sa Quiapo!), you can still try the parking lot (legal na parking lot to haha) at the other side of Quezon Blvd. Ikot lang kayo sa dulo before the bridge.. Before the over pass, may makikita kayo na PARKING sign at medyo maliit na iskinita papasok doon sa parking lot. Lakd na lang ng kaunti, tawid sa overpass, lakad pa kaunti sa may Chowking (papunta ng simbahan way ha) then Paterno Street na.

Back to the eyeglasses in Quiapo… when you reach that building, liko kayo sa kaliwa then pasok sa may pinto sa side na iyon. At the right side, you can find this optical shop:

Tanong nyo muna magkano ang lens.. tumawad kayo kung pwede! I can’t remember kung magkano pero if you would ask for a lens, ask for Essilor Crizal Prevencia, bagay sya if mahilig ka mag computer kase may blue light filter na, may UV filter pa.

Pag nagkasundo na kayo sa presyo, they’ll bring you to an optical clinic to get your eye grade (maya bayad yan, 100 Pesos lang naman) better if you already have your grade. Ang ginagawa ko, check up muna sa ophthalmologist then pagawa ng salamin sa Quiapo. It’s just me but I believe mas accurate ang reading ng optha.

Eyeglasses frames for as low as 90 Pesos

After getting your eye grade, ask them where you can buy good quality but cheap frames. They have frames din naman, but better options yung mga tindahan near them. Facing Ariel Optical shop, on your left side, you can find frames for as low as 90 PhP (wholesale price kung 6pcs ang kukunin mo). At the right side of the shop is more updated frame designs:

Designer quality eyeglasses for 500 Pesos

Quality frames for eyeglasses in Quiapo are priced at 500 Pesos and up. Sa sobrang mura, gusto ko kumuha ng 3! Kaso maharlika ang lens ko.. maybe next visit!

Here’s my current eyeglasses from Quiapo:

Aside from buying cheap but quality eyeglasses in Quiapo, here are other things you can do on that side of the Metro:

  • buy kiddie bike, adult bike, mountain bike, BMX bike and bike accessories
  • buy Excelente Ham
  • Check out New Sin Kian Heng for Kitchen Aide Mixer price and other cooking wares
  • Visit Killion for cooking and baking ingredients
  • Ride a padyak to eat at Waiying
  • Walk from Waiying to Ongpin street and buy gold, fruits and cogon grass:

Ang cogon grass ay mabisang gamot sa bato sa kidney. Tried and tested! Uminom ako ng cogon grass tea at lumabas talaga ang bato sa kidney ko.
